Taste buds or something else?

I have been using mini vivi novas for a while now. I love them.
but one thing is driving me crazy....

The first half of the tank 1 to 1.5 ml or so tastes great. The second half does not. The flavor is off like well chewed gum (not that it tastes like gum - its just the same kind of loss of flavor).

I have been keeping hydrated and I usually sip water when I vape but nothing, short of emptying the tank and starting over, seems to help.

Is this a taste bud issue or am I, perhaps, just sensitive to the loss of flavor?

Will tanks, like the vivi, actually slurp up flavor and leave little flavor in the tank towards the last half? (a theory put forth by my bf is that the flavor molecules are smaller and thus wick faster than the rest of the mix)

Any thoughts?

I lost flavor just tonight in my Nova Mini. I thought I had killed my taste buds yet agian. I emptied and cleaned that one and filled my backup. Instant flavor and I have run through a tank and half already. I noticed in cleaning the first one that it was very dirty and the juice had actually gone much darker than usual. Seems my Mini is sensitive to being cleaned and I had been abusing this particular setup all weekend with no cleaning since Friday morning.

I now plan to clean it every night and use the other the following day. I noticed the coil was very dark and gunked up. I did a clean, dry burn, clean cycle on it and it seems to be better but not back to normal. To be fair it is the same head I have been running for almost two weeks so it may be time to retire it and start a new one.

Try cleaning your Mini or replace the coil head and see if the flavor comes back.
