First they upped the tax on Cigs so high that started ordering on line from Kentucky. Then they started hassleing people for the tax on that so I switched to Roll Your Own RYO. I actually liked the change to RYO as I found a forum and realized that I could smoke a better cig for less. Then they went and put a huge tax increase on that about 300%. So I was looking into alternatives to that and came across vaping. I almost bought into one of the free trial deals but decided to look around and sure enough I found this forum and it has helped me to make the decision to switch to vaping.

I wonder how many others there are like me. Who got ticked off at all the tax and decided to give vaping a try?

I don't think I will save anything over RYO but my health, taste buds and sense of smell but I think that should be reason enough to stick with it. I'm still waiting on my kits to come in so I can't comment on my experience so far.

It sure seems like it has helped a lot of people. I am not going to count on it working as well for me. I don't wan't to feel to dissapointed if it doesn't. However, I think from reading a lot of posts that I should be able to if I add snuss. I already use Snuff when I'm in the mood but I can't stand it for the day to day use. It just drives me nuts having to blow my nose all the time.

The cost of cigarettes in my state just kept going up to the point that I started buying them in the neighboring state because of lower taxes there. Then I started buying generics but, the price of them continued to climb. I also noticed that as I'm getting older I would get winded from doing things that just a few years ago didn't seem so physical. So, between rising prices and my health I decided to quit or find an alternative. It lead me here and I'm happy to say that I have been smoke free for a month and providing that I don't spend too much on supplies in the next month I'll be in the black. I can't thank the people on this forum enough.

Not to get your hopes up ... but.... Yes the constant increase in prices was driving me buggy. Being out of breath during exercise too.

I got the ecig thinking oh well at least I tried it even if it is a waste of money. 8 months later and 2 packs a day lighter. I have been smoke free since the first or second week. I only think it took so long cause I dreaded throwing out the cigs I had paid for so was still getting the morning smoke and after dinner smoke to use them up.

Tax increases only made me switch to ordering analogs from an Indian reservation in Palm Springs -- at $2.20 a pack / $22.00 a carton (no shipping / no taxes).

What got me vaping was stepping outside of a club for a smoke this past Halloween with the doorman, and some friends of his coming along. One of them pulled out a V4L, asked me to try it, told me he'd tried other brands but this was the one that did it for him. When I got home that night, I looked them up online, found this forum, ordered the Ultimate Ultimatum kit. It arrived at noon, Nov. 5th and I haven't had an analog since.

I loves me some vaping!

Plus it's about 1/10th the cost of even my cheap Indian reservation analogs! You heard right. 1/10th the cost.

At approx $250 a month for cigs, 4 months of smoking=lower end gaming laptop. Or enough of a supply of T-bone or ribeye steaks to think pork and beans and sardines are needed to clean the palate.

Of course the way I've been spending $ on ecig parts and liquids for the past 3 months, I'm not sure I'm financially ahead compared to wasting $ on cigs, but so far it's been an interesting new ride on the pv express, picking up rudimentary soldering on the way.

Due to a slight miscalculation, we now have a cute little 3 yr old daughter who will graduate high school when I am 60 yrs old. I am going to do my best to insure that I am there for her (breathing)!
I decided to obtain the following items,
#1 E-cig.
#2 Conceal and carry permit.
#3 Trust fund.

Tax increases had me considering growing and curing my own tobacco. If anyone wants some Virginia Gold seeds, I will sell them cheap! ;)

My aunt died in October of lung cancer... So I decided I didn't want that to be me. Remembered that crazy e cig I tried at a party once and called the dude I met. He sold me a Joye 510 and its been happy vaping ever since. Of course, I now have my own much cheaper sources and about 4-5 510 kits and a chuck.

When cigs started getting into the $4 plus range I started purchasing cartons from the indian reservations in other states, tax free of course. Then every once in a while one of these websites would be shut down/out of business for no apparent reason. Then I started reading about the state and federal governments obtaining mailing lists of those who were making these out-of-state cig purchases and tracking them down for taxes.

Ok, I decided that I would just RYO and did that for some time until the government started investigating them as well. In Massachusetts the law states that you must pay tax on any tobacco coming into the state by any means with a weight of 15grams or more. Oh oh.

Decided it was safer to just pay the state tax and buy my cigs locally. Last summer (I think it was in July) our state increased the tax on every pack of cigarettes dramatically. In one day, my cigs went up exactly $1.50 per pack with this new tax increase. I was smoking USA Gold Ultra Light 100's and paying exactly $7.00 per pack when I took my first vape and quit analogs for good.

Unfortunately, it will only be a matter of time before government gets their tax fingers into the vaping industry and our costs will immediately jump 300-600% or even higher.

Hey Suds I'd sell those extra packs you have and get yourself some good quality e-juice if I were you.
