The politicians pushed to make these laws by ALA/ACS (so they can get their cut of "tobacco" revenue) have no idea what they're doing. They think ecigs are all cigalikes they can slap a simple tax on and be done with it.

If they outlaw e-liquid, only allow pre-filled sealed cartos to fit the cig-a-like, a simple tax per carto works easily. The efficacy of using such a product isn't important, you pay the tax on the carto, or continue to smoke and pay the tobacco tax. Either way they win...

It's about money, not helping people stop smoking.

I think they'll do it based on the IRS coding a business has to use. The scare January 1 this year with banks refusing to complete transactions for ecig products, including empty plastic bottles, exposed what their tactics will be. If you sell ecigs, you'll be required to get a tobacco license. If you have a tobacco license, you have to use the IRS tobacco coding. Thus, anything you sell under it will be taxed.

I haven't seen that proposed with any of the insane tax plans.

And what about going to Walmart or TSC for VG/PG and flavorings? Nicotine free doesn't phase them in their plans to tax everything.
What about scrapping/re-purposing batteries?

These are people who are clueless about the actual doing part of most things.
The see an opportunity to wave their hand and claim tax. If they weren't clueless they'd be trying to tax nicotine at the wholesale level and leave it at that. Instead they're trying to tax a tobacco pipe (which is not done).

Ive heard the govt will tax anything related to vaping, does this include Kanthal wire i wonder?..how bout plastic bottles and drip tips, where does it end?

Look at it this way.

Once the Government Taxes EVERYTHING, and there is Nothing left to Tax, maybe then they will consider Cutting Spending for Once?

Yeh, "veterans" may know about and be able to but those aren't the targets. The targets are the newly interested vapers or future vapers. They're looking at big revenue sources not the piddly ones they would get from the, comparatively, few who can do a rebuild for instance or DIYers. As for being "clueless"... yeh, they might be about vaping but they're definitely not as far as manipulating people/laws/regulations to get money. WE are the ones who are clueless about those though we are learning more each day about what these types are made of and what they're capable of doing. The thing to do now is to get a clue on how they operate and get active fighting their moves.

Yet they are proposing taxes, restrictions, regulations, bans that affect a growing percentage of the adult population. Scary, just plain scary...

It's even worse. It's how the world is run now.

Used to be the jeweler, the inventor, the carpenter, etc. were the ones who owned the business. Now it's some paper pusher owning the business telling those people how to do their jobs.
Used to be those business owners were the ones who went into the government. Now it's paper pushers going in and telling everyone else how to do everything and securing jobs for more paper pushers.
