here is a little video i made on how to do this with a 510 cart...

it is not probably the best way but it is by far the quickest i have found!:thumb:

be sure to fluff the material a bit once its in the cart i did not really do it in the video but it is what it is...

YouTube - Teabag Refilling a 510

I mean thanks for the video! I was having trouble with the concept.

Does someone wanna try something out for me? You know how you roll the pyramid bags up, fold them in half and stuff them in the cartridge, but instead of stuffing the whole thing in, try making so you cut the bottom portion of the teabag up so that more liquid can sit on the bottom of the cart, while not being absorbed and wasted on the huge amount of teabag filter down there.

I think an illustration is due!

NORMALLY you would do as this picture describes and then continue to stuff it in our cartridges and cut to size and puff away...

Instead, why dont we do as this picture illustrates and thin out the portion of the teabag that will not come into contact with the atty bridge? Wouldnt this leave less absorbing affect and more liquid left at the bottom?

I dunno just an idea... anyone wanna try my stupid willy wonka suggestions?

I tried the Fluval, didn't much care for it. Still got the burning taste as the carts grew empty....sometimes before. Broke down and went for the pyramid tea bags....WOW, what a blast. Now I get excellent vapor, full carts (that last and last) and great flavor. First few hits almost took my head of....:thumb:

ROFL i am still a little light headed myself !

they wicked up MUCH better, the vapor was considerably more ( just whats needed to simulate the actual analog even more ) and i quite like it really

ps - thanks iii ! for the video i had seen it before on youtube but out of context so now the story fits ! ( just as well as any teabag )

I have read numerous posts on using the pyramid tea bags in the 510 cartridges. I am a bit confused. Some people say to cut one in half and use that. Others swear that using the entire bag per cartridge is best. One person who comes to mind says he uses 2 entire bags per cartridge. Everyone (almost) says to roll it. Some say to fold it. Here are my questions.

1) How much tea bag is best? 1/2? 1? 2 (I kind of doubt it)?

2) Should the bag be folded after it is rolled so that 2 open rolled ends stick up or 2?

3) How tightly should the bag be rolled?

Please don't refer me to the video because I do not have working sound on my computer. Thanks. And - I apologize if this is definitively answered somewhere. I have read numerous pages and over a hundred posts on this topic without getting any clear answer on the 510. Thanks again.

I have used 2, but I roll them whole and trim to size it after I stick it in the cart. Due to the height difference between the Old and New attys, they have to be different lengths.

2) Should the bag be folded after it is rolled so that 2 open rolled ends stick up or 2?

I've tried both, makes no difference that I can tell.

3) How tightly should the bag be rolled?

Theoretically the looser, the more liquid it would hold, but it will wick out quicker, which might result in flooding. Tighter and the bag uses up more volume and wants to hold the liquid more. I trim the 1st one shorter that the 2nd to create a cup to "hug" the atty bridge, makes it wick very nicely.

Trial and error, there is no right answer, you gotta do what you like best.

I feel like I've tried all of the cart mods! lol I do have a question on this, as this seems to be wicking extremely well, and is pretty much a snap to top off/refill/clean/reuse/etc.

Who here is using the pyramid tea bags with DSE801/Kissbox style carts? Can you explain how you are doing this?

The Lipton Pyramid tea bag is the best thing since sliced bread..Don't try sliced bread.heh

I got two carts per bag and did not bother folding since I wanted the hole in the center. It is loose and seemed as though the juice would run out but it does not.

I messed up and cut one a bit short. So I took it back out and added a small piece of the original filler to the bottom..This aslo seems to allow the nylon to form to the atty better because of a slight cushion. It is also more forgiving to clumsiness and inaccuracy LOL.

Thanks Bizzyb0t and everyone else.

I want to give a big thanks to Robert and Bigbob for being quick with detailed answers. Thanks, guys!

I would also be quite remiss if I didn't say "Thanks!" to bizzyb0t who first led many of us in this direction.

I learn so much everyday from all of you.

Thanks bitey!! We all learn from one another. Just pay it forward and help someone else...just like someone helped me and someone helped them:)

I'm trying something right now on the 801 cart. Took 1 PTB, split it in half, rolled up two carpet rolls and inserted them into the respective oval shaped sides of the cart. So far it's working pretty good :)

EDIT: Added polyfill to the bottom of my 801 cart as Some Guy did, seems to improve the cart mod further.
