OK, in that case to me it looks like a tiny scratch, not even all the way through. It should be fine for now, but keep an eye on it as you swap it in and out for signs of further deterioration. Is that at the top or bottom of the battery? If the top be a bit more weary, if the bottom then it should be fine. The bottom of the battery is grounded to the whole chassis of the mod anyway. If the top shorts to the chassis then that is where the problems come in.

Thanks!
Right in the middle of the battery. its the point where the two sides of the wrap meet.

The side is still part of the bottom in battery construction. Like I said the big concerns are the top, if the wrap at the top starts to tear, toss or re-wrap the battery. It's really not hard to re-wrap them. You just need some shrink wrap tubing and a hair dryer.

Is it where the battery rests on the "ribs" of the plastic case, when you store it in a case? Mine do that, too. I just keep an eye on 'em and keep extra wraps on hand for when they get bad. Battery wraps are cheap, and easy to apply (it's just heat-shrink tubing, you apply it with a heat gun or hair dryer). You can get them from FastTech (ships worldwide), or battwrap.com (if you're in the US).

It doesn't matter where on the insulator wrap the tear or hole is, if any part of the metal "can" is exposed showing bare metal it is a BIG concern.

That defect in the OP's pic probably isn't an immediate concern now, as no bare metal is showing yet. But a new replacement should be gotten soon or the battery should be rewrapped properly.

Are your battery wraps and insulator rings intact?

There are sound electronic reasons why that chart is being overly cautious. However, following it will prevent careless mistakes from becoming catastrophic, so I will refrain from posting them.
