I swear, I'm completely stupid. Cartos work so well for me why did I want to try direct dripping? To switch flavors easily at home. Cartos on the go and for when I don't feel like fiddling.

but the attys just taste nasty or get flooded. i do NOT understand what I'm doing wrong. I have 306 with drip tip, on an ego 650mah or 900mah battery.

These are brand new atties. also have some 510 atties that came with my tornado that I can't get to work at all.

please someone give me an atomizers/direct dripping for dummies?

:cry::cry::-x:-x

Most atomizers come with a primer fluid in them. If you don't blow it out good before you put juice in it, you'll be vaping it. It won't hurt you but it'll sure taste nasty for quite a while. It can take anywhere from an hour to half a day to get rid of that taste. Once it goes away you'll find the flavor comes out much better in an atty. Carto's kind of mute flavors and some do pretty good while others don't. Once you break in your atty you'll see a big difference so just give it a bit of time.

Only one blow out is necessary and it never takes me but about 10-15 seconds. When no more drops come out into the sink, I blow it a couple more times, wipe it down with a towel, and then drop 3-4 drops on the bridge and wait 30 seconds or so for it to soak in. Vape it and when the taste dies down, add a couple more drops.

The 306 is a great drip atty. Once it is stabilized, 2-3 drops are usually enough. If you blow it out, then you need a drop or two more to replace what you blew out and refill the bowl and wick.

If the barrel is getting hot, it's dry. Slightly warm is normal operating temp. Once you get it right, you will know what warm means.

I'm still a little new but here is what I've been told...

A new atty has to be blown out...Take the end where the drip tip goes in and blow into a napkin for a few seconds, then cover the little hole and blow again. The second time is to also clear the "vent/air holes.

Put atty on batt...Drip 2 drops and "prime"..Puff without inhalling. Then add 2 more drops and start vapin.

3-4 drops are "considered" the same amount as a analog. IMO I think its a little more, just depends on how many puffs you take.

You will know when it's time for more, you will get a "burnt" kinda taste, TOTALLY different from the juice! Then drip some more. I find I only need 2 drops at a time to prevent "flooding".

If you flood the atty, just remove and blow through the tip end on a napkin once, then again with the center hole covered to clear the "vent/air" holes. I personally do not add after that until the "burnt" taste comes back then I drip again.

I hope this helps and does not confuse you. Jimmy

LOL. I gave up direct dripping after my first miserable fail.

However, I've got a LOT of sample size juices, and want to do some dripping to try them out. Dont want to ruin Carto with juice I might not like. I will be checking back here for more techniques/advice once my 510 atties get here.

My technique is to get a tissue, paper towel, or TP (unused is preferable), put my drip tip on and blow through the DT into the tissue. Blow as long and hard as you can, catch your breath, repeat on a new spot on the paper. When you see no more fluid when you blow, you've got as much as you can out of there.

With a 510 atty drip about 6 drops and let it sit for a minute or two. Take a hit WITHOUT inhaling, take another, and another. Then take a small one and inhale just lightly to test the flavor and harshness. If it's still really nasty, repeat without inhaling a couple more times, then test it again. Usually after a few minutes it's bearable, and after about 10 minutes you'll be ok. Atty's do take some time to break in and I usually give them about 1/2 a day before I figure it's ready.

I just noticed you're from Cleveland. I'm down in Kent, just outside of Akron. You oughta check out some of the shops down this a'way if you're in the area.

He probably means the wig shops you visit because you tear your hair out from dripping.

1) blow out the atty.
2) 2 or 3 drops (with my 510 it's 3 or 4 drops)
3) vape. # puffs depends on voltage, atty, vaping style, etc. For me at 5 volts it's about 10 puffs. More for 3.x volts. But when it drops off, just before/as it starts to get a poor taste go back to step 2.

Easy. Practice and you'll get the hang of it. Keep the hair.

We have VaporBomb.com over in Barberton, they're a good juice vendor but carry a bit of hardware if you ask them when you're in the store. Their hours are kind of strange something like 10:00 to 2:00 Tuesday through Thurday, but it's best to just call 'em and ask before you leave. I buy almost all of my juice from them now and always just drive the 20 miles over there and pick it up.

Down in New Philadelphia we have AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Electronic Cigarettes| Electronic Cigarette| Cigarettes Electronic| Cigarette Electronic Cigarette| Best Electronic Cigarettes | Happy Holidays!. They carry the usual stuff, 510's, eGo's, and some top quality mods as well. I've been down there a couple of times, but they've since set up a vape lounge from what I've heard. Hmm, I'll have to drive over there some time soon to check it out.

A bit farther away is Revolver Electronic Cigarettes over in Toledo. There's a thread that has some info here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ohio-vapers/66835-ohio-retailers-4.html. I never get up that way so I haven't been there yet.

You might want to go through the threads in the Ohio Vapers, there's quite a few Clevelanders around so maybe you'll meet one of 'em someday.

Lol. The problem is when I get that taste that horrible acrid taste I want to throw the attys in the toilet. So then I just stop trying for the day. So far my cisco has worked well but now seems stuck on the cinnamon flavor. Argh

Sweet deal on the local shops. I had no idea we had such places :D

I tried to drip, really I did. I really wanted to like it, really I did. I had heard such amazing stories from folks who loved dripping. I read everything I could, got tons of advice. I practiced for a good, long while, made dozens of attempts, but I can't get the timing right, and I didn't like it even when I had some rare good moments with it. I only drip when I absolutely must to test a new flavor.

That's the great thing about vaping. Everyone has their own preferences, and we don't have to like the same things. Good luck with your dripping.
