What do you call that bit holding the juice? Is it a special type of tank, I've never seen one like that?

If ya want rock 'n roll vaping, go HERE to build your own syringe tanks for under $4.50.

I've tried them with high expectations, because of all the raving I've heard about them, but my results have always been the same as other cartos. I never get to the point of tasting burning fiber...I simply taste the fiber material, and flavor is markedly attenuated.

I don't get the same taste with CE2s; which, at 6 Volts are too harsh and do taste of burned niquid; so I've concluded that I am tasting fiber--it has this odd sort of sucking water out of a washcloth sort of flavor about it that lasts for days on end. Don't ask me to explain it, because I'm still trying to explain it to myself (maybe I just have a heightened sense of taste); it's just that, using anything that has filler material in it has a taste there that isn't there when I use an atty, so I just go with what tastes best.

Using the insulin syringes takes away the objection of inconvenience for me (and I can do that safely while I'm driving), since it only takes half-a-second to pop one into the drip tip and push the plunger down--and it works equally-well for BE112s or 510s. Ritual-wise, it's something of a sweet spot for me, and it's not like I'm ever going to run out of 50-unit syringes.

Evidently, I'm not the only one who tastes the fiber filling:

You're certainly not the only one who can taste filler. But not all of us have such refined palates.... Army chow killed mine years ago

Every time I tried dripping, it went like this :
Dripped 3 drops, took a hit - burnt taste. Added two more drops - leaking juice all over the place.
Tried it several times, never could figure out what I was doing wrong. Maybe I need a drip shield, but not sure if it's worth it?

Exactly my experience with dripping. I will never understand how anyone can get a good vape when 1 drop is the difference between burnt or leaking all over the place with juice flowing into your mouth....

Had I started vaping via dripping, I don't think I'd still be 'bakky free. I do drip to test sample flavs though.

Touche... I'll revisit once I have a few favorite juices and this carto thing down pat.

There is a rather sharp learning curve to dripping properly, and there is also a never ending supply of gadgets to make dripping easier.
But, once you get er down, there is nothing better than dripping!

... and somehow I do believe that coming from you TJ. (note to self... grab some attys with next order)

This is as good as it gets on an eGo without dripping

just curios...has anyone hated cartos then gone to a dual coil Map tank and been happy with the flavor and performance? I'm not a fan of cartos but have high hopes for the Map Tank...would love some insight. Thanks.

I'm curious about this too. To me, it just seems like a high capacity carto. I don't really like cartos so tanks don't seem like something I would be interested in.

I love dripping but I hate to drip, if that makes any sense. Dripping gives me the best flavor, throat hit, and vapor production, but it's a pain. That's why I use an ultramax. Its like dripping, I just don't have to do it as often. I know that mod has a bad rap, but it's the best one I've ever used. Gives me exactly what I need.

Carts on an eGo batt got me off of 'bakky. But, I hated 'em. Moved to the eMDCCs, which I still enjoy. THEN, I made a SYRINGE TANK with a 510 1.5Ω dual coil carto and found the next level in my vaping.

I'm in over two weeks with my first 'born' and it's still goin' strong. I do think that the bottom feeding is preventing ol' joose from collecting in the carto base due to constant 'flushing'.

Hope this helps...

I like dripping. after getting tired of cartridges I dripped all the time for months. But it's a hassle when sitting in the dark watching a movie or driving. I still drip when I sit here at the computer but I always use a bottom feeder now so when I get up to do something else I can bottom feed. I also like to bottom feed carts. I think it helps mine last longer. I never got into tanks.. too easy to just squeeze the bottle. (for me anyway) I can taste the filler but I don't dislike it.. its just a different vape.

My advice to those who search for *The* way to vape and just want one thing that works and is appropriate for their lifestyle: You should keep a good atty on hand and vape it just for pleasure occasionally even if you've decided to use cartos, tanks, e2's, fluxos, or whatever as your way to vape. The right juice dripped in a good atty can be incredibly relaxing.

Dual coil atomizers from cloudsofvapor.com on a Reo Grand at 4.8V is the way to go. Dripping is too much of a hassle...even on my days off but the bottom feeder works just the same. The Grand is my goto device in the evenings.

For those that have issues with cartos; have you tried boge's? I've tried just about every 510 carto available and none compare, especially at 5v. Every other carto I have tried has had wicking issues leading to burning within the first 10 minutes of filling.

Boge's are easy to fill too. No syringe or carto condoms needed. Simply pry off the rubber mouthpiece with your fingernail, and drip down the interior wall.

Boge's were my first carto over a year ago, and I've spent more than I care to admit trying to "upgrade." if you haven't yet, give em a try before giving up on cartos.

Sounds like you haven't tried all cartos that are available and/or or you don't know how to fill them.

Update: it's been 6 months since I've been on the boards, just got some dual coil cartos (which were not around when I left) and they seem to be on par with the standard boge's.

If I didn't know how to fill cartos, I wouldn't use them.... Most have issues with juice with higher than 50% VG.

Slb's: terrible wicking issues. Ce2's: decent if held upside down for a few seconds prior to taking a drag. Syringe mod with ptb ce2's: improvement, but still subpar.

Most other cartos are just slight variations of the above (except tanks, can't comment on them). I've found that cartos without filler, or cartos with wrapped cloth filler have wicking problems compared to the foam/fiber filler of boge's/healthcabin dual coils, when used with thicker juice at 5 volt.

I'm not sure yet if the dual coil is worth the price increase over the boge's.

Although I agree with you I can also understand the OP's take on the situation. Smoking for some becomes a ritual... those who have rolled their own analogs can attest to this. The act of preparing your tools, working with the materials and then puffing on something that you put together yourself. I think this is the feeling of nostalgia recieved by drippers when going through the act of dripping.
Well said.

Taking out a little bottle, opening it, and dripping a couple of drops is equlivalent to...
Taking out a pack of cigarettes, removing one, taking out a lighter, and lighting the cigarette.

I would prefer to have this ritual in place even if I didn't feel that dripping produced a superior vape.

If that really were the case, nobody would like dripping.
But it most definitely is not the case.
