Just commented on an appalling Ted Talk. Hope you guys are with me against this garbage.

My neighbor, in his nice way, chided me about vaping yesterday based on what he has been hearing in the news of late. The fight is overwhelming. I'm afraid the anti-vaping forces have won the argument. I have seen great propaganda efforts before, but the anti-vaping crusade is among the most destructive I have ever seen when weighed against the benefits of vaping and the millions of lives that can be saved.

In as much as I would like to punt this gas bag into another orbit, I have resigned myself to defeat in trying to battle these ignorant fools. Instead, my energy and efforts are going toward making DIY viable for myself. Perhaps once I have achieved success, I will return to battle these propellerheads who feel a need to tell me how to live my life. For now, I am focused on saving mine.

I think people who have never been smokers/addicts simply cannot fathom the concept of 'harm reduction'.

They do not see addiction as a disease to be managed, but rather a character flaw or moral failing to be shamed and punished.

They will continue to mistake our advocacy for harm reduction as us saying 'vaping is 100% harmless'.

I participate on a board with some of, who I consider, the smartest people around. When the story started going around about the sicknesses being blamed on vaping, all that collective intelligence went right out the window. Everything from "no one knows what's in e-liquid" to "you're vaping anti-freeze" (PG v. PEG) to "vaping produces more formaldehyde than smoking" to "you haven't really quit smoking" to just stuff they make up and everything in-between. Refute any of their fallacies, with citation, and they either become obstinate or move on to another, self-fabricated, "fact". Ask them for citations that back-up thier supposition and... ...crickets. I've given up as well.

"Thank you, Stan, it's such a pity that a propagandist such as Suchitra Krishnan-Sarin won't take any notice of you, or the hard facts. Her delivery is that of a caring and worried parent who sadly chooses "mays" and "coulds" over the proven results of real research.
It seems to me that she has swallowed the big pharma and big tobacco profit induced lobbying stance so prevalent in the US of A.
I would not be surprised if we are seeing a repetition of the collusion of the December 14, 1953, when the CEOs of the six largest cigarette makers met secretly at New York’s Plaza Hotel to discuss a strategy for countering the bad publicity. People have been "programmed" to believe whatever they see and hear from the television. You cannot open their minds until they are willing, or able to break free from their perceived reality.

On the other hand, I have had a few good discussions with strangers who asked me about my vaping, one recently was asking because his son was vaping, and he noticed my vapor didn't have any smell to it. I was able to impart some positive info to this guy, and he thanked me for talking to him.

A part of their anti-vaping stance is fueled by their hatred of the tobacco companies yet they play right into their hands with their support for anti-vaping.

The Science doesn't matter, nothing matters, they are on their own Crusade, it makes them feel important, worthwhile. Just remember how the Crusades turned out all you 'crusading zealots' 400 years of fighting and what did they end up with, Nothing.

If only we had a time machine, these ...... could look back and see the Millions of Smokers they kill, if they get what they want. That would be truly humbling for them, they'd have to search their Souls asking "did I do the right thing".......................oooooh they wouldn't hear the answer though because they've got their heads up their butts!

The only way to convert the anti-vapers is to begin restricting their lives. Overweight? Regulate their food. Cholesterol high? Take their Fritos away. Drink too much? Take their booze away. Create too much carbon pollution? Restrict their travel. Kids get in trouble with the law? Take their kids away. Divorced? Prohibit them from marrying again. Absurd? Yes! So is restricting vaping (which hasn't even been proven to be a negative).

It is so easy to be stupid or uninformed, to be other wise takes effort and, well heck, the Kardashians are on.

Maybe I live too sheltered of a life, or perhaps I'm just lucky, but I get way more positive feedback about vaping than negative in my little slice of planet earth.

Perhaps it's my stealthish style versus some room full of cloud style.

Personally I could care less what the tweeters, fakebookers or instadummys say about just about anything. I smoke, I feel lousy. I vape, I don't feel lousy. Society is insane and generally always have been. Instant chatting just feeds the stupidity. And exaserbates the problem. Trying to convince the stupid they are stupid is like trying to make a ball out of motor oil, so why try?

I am proud to state I don't know most of the Kardashians, I am under the vague impression that SOME Kardashian relative or marriage or thing turned into a "woman" and it's really ugly.... Even for a Kardashian.

I also vaguely know that Kanye West did fulfill the LIFELONG dream of many a black man to marry a white woman with the blackest .... on the planet. I am happy he got to live the dream, except he really hasn't been the same since. Like, incarcerated on psych units type of thing.

I feel really bad for him, actually he used to be FUN. So like, now, having married a Kardashian he is mentally ill.

The seem to like, INCITE mental illness frankly, which is why I have NEVER watched a single episode of the Kardashian show and also turn away when that helium filled ... that kind of reminds me of what happened to VIOLET in Charlie and the Chocolate factory sort of enters my field of vision, with her gigantic rear in the FRONT of the picture, and she's sort of seductively leering back with her too long head and weird face LEERING at me. I burn that magazine (if I'm not in public) or take It to the can and dunk it in like, the toilet (the top, it's a useful place to hide bad things like alcohol, those illegally bought ultram pills from the off shore pharmacy, and the .... of Kim Kardashian) which DOES defy ALL sanity no wonder people go nuts when they like, get sucked into its orbit.

SATAN himself may be hiding in that .... ,is all I am saying.

My husband is a .... man, and mine is pretty okay. But there are things you can just take too far and that .... is one of them.
