I have always said there should be a raid spray for teenagers...

teenagers are impulsive. It is a known fact. So just because teenagers are impulsive and at times down right stupid--should we just ban things that can be of great help to millions of ADULT smokers because parents can't watch over their children? Cmon. "Flavors like chocolate, vanilla and strawberry" So that is saying teenagers are the only ones who can enjoy these flavors..

I just wish everyone could see the "big picture" Ignorance is not always bliss.

I noticed that too. But the title is extremely misleading. It should be Ban the sale of them to minors.

There really is no way to stop someone under 18 from ordering on the internet unless you require them to scan their drivers license before ordering. This would create a burden on over age 18 buyers or at least it would me. Of course this would not stop some who would use someone else's ID.

Where I work there is a highschool across the street. The highschool kids are always hanging out in the parking lot on breaks or after school. There are always kids digging out cigarette butts out of the ashtrays. I think there are more important things to worry about like this.

From the article and I think it says a ton about what is going on.

It seems to me that this isn't something the kids came up with but are in fact being encouraged to take part in. Probably after a little "education" by Marie Mulroy.


First of all kids are going to smoke if they want to. In fact making it illegal probably will make it more attractive for some kids. Also, I'm sure that there are already millions of kids who actually could use the e-cig to get over using regular cigs.

I'm not for handing anyone an e-cig who isn't already addicted to nic. There are acceptions like those who are using nic for medical reasons. If people who have never smoked decide they want to, then again I would suggest the e-cig as a better alternative.


Sounds like a busybody with a cause and limited knowledge trying to stir things up based on emotion rather than information.

My guess is those kids are "volunteers" for Tobacco Free Kids. It is frightening to think how much control those groups have over the kids who work for them. I saw this video some time ago and found it chilling. Take a look at the almost religious zealotry at this meeting.

Kids can be easily manipulated by fanatics. Give them a day out of school and a party atmosphere and they will follow you anywhere.

I am all for not allowing them to be bought by kids, obviously. And the whole "Flavors appeal to children" argument is a crock.

Why haven't they already banned or placed age restrictions on:

Modeling -Modeling glue has been notorious since I was a kid.
Spray Paint
Gasoline
Liquid Paper

If a kid wants a quick buzz, these will do it.

Kids that want to look cool can still buy laser pointers.

New question: How did the new Alice in Wonderland get a PG Rating? The caterpillar was sucking on his hookah like the FDA was after him. Where's the uproar?

It looks like the author just wants them illegal for sale to minors, which I support, sort of. Well, minors should be barred from being able to buy ecigs. A lot of good that does with drugs, analogs and alcohol, though. The question is enforcement. Do we send otherwise good kids to jail if they are caught vaping? really? Ecigs have been here for a few years, and there is no indication of a "trend" in teens using them. Who is this kid? And what evidence does he see that there will be a trend? And what teen would be publishing an article about banning something before there is a problem with it? Something does not sit right with me on this, although there should be age limits to being able to buy them. Indeed all the online vendors I am aware of have such limits.

seems to me e-cigs might be a better alternative for kids who want to look like they're smoking. just use 0 nic juice. no addiction and who can tell?
