LOL you're welcome. After you get settled in you can start looking at DIY. My costs are $3.50 per week- juice and cartos. Make my own juice, watch for sales and order accessories in bulk with friends/ converts :toast:

Oh My Gosh, 20 dollars a week, wow!!!! I love it thanks so much, I will take your advice and wait on others to see what they say! I already love this site! See as I learn I can help others too!

I've recommended the Riva Lite kit from Liberty Flights to many people. Everything markfm said is spot on and would be my advice to you as well.

One addition though. I'd recommend the 510 Riva kit over the 901 kit. This refers to the atomizer connector. The 510 offers a bit more options down the road. You can use 510 cartomizers, 510 atomizers, and 306 atomizers. With the 901 you're restricted to 808 cartomizers and 901 atomizers (without the use of an adapter).

I linked to the 510 :) Personally I use 808 connectors, I like them more mechanically, but 510 provides easy access to a wide variety of atties and cartos.

(I'm actually running with Ikenvape 801 fusion 2.5 ohm cartos -- VERY nice on a tank, up in the 3.5 - 5V range, but tanks, adapters, slotting, VV I avoid pushing on a new person, gotta save something to try a few months down the road :D )

Alright since you are new I recommend that you first read the wonderful world of vaping series. It is excellent and will give you a great overview of the many and varied options available to you. As others have recommended a fat battery type for you I would just like to chime in my agreement. Get yourself an eGo, an e-power, a Riva or the like and some cartomizers. You can then fill your own. If you are paying $30 for 30ml for crappy juice from this vendor, I have very good news for you. Don over at Backwoods Brew will sell you 30ml for about 17$ and it is real high end quality stuff. Cartomizers can be had for about $8 for 5 (plus shipping). There is no way in the world you should be paying this much for your supplies. Do a little bit of reading around here. The ECF approved suppliers are a great resource. You can more or less trust that you won't be getting ripped off .......at least in terms of prices. Hope this helps.

Seani...that is exactly what happened...you HAVE to keep them wet. Always. Rule 1, 2, and 3. If you never run them dry, and clean them when the vapor/flavor drop off they will last a long while. I have BMF cartos that are months old, have seen a TON of refills, and are still working awesome. Not a bit of burn in there whatsoever. Some juices will kill a carto no matter what (ie cinnamon, many darks like coffee, and some fruits) but thats usually clog/gunk not burn.

I may be wrong but I took a dual coil carto apart last night and found the sleeve and the material around it was burned to bits pretty much melting around the coils and clogging that inner pipe.

I think this was why it was not drawing very well any more.

That inner pipe seems to be made of the same material they use for wicking. I put a flame to it till it turned bright red and this made no difference to it once it cooled down.

My conclusion? I killed the carto with my inexperience by not keeping it wet enough.

:( My favourite flavour is coffee...

I'll have to keep an atty around for my morning coffee and just use carto's for the rest.

I am determined to make vaping work and I can't afford to spend anymore than I spend on vaping than I do on analogs. I did my research and had some help from a sister who has been vaping for awhile. I have kept very careful track of how much I have spent since I put down the analogs on September 24th. I started with a provari, 10 different attys, about 180 mls of liquid (120 mls of my most of the day vape and the rest in samples), I recently added a Big Daddy Tank and 10 different kinds of cartos. I spent $527 in the first month. I broke even on November 16th. I just placed a $50 order for some more juice. I have enough supplies to keep me going for at least 2 months so I am saving my cash for a Reo mini.

well I pay $4.95 for a 5 pack of boge catos and even if I went through 30 in the last 2 months that would only be 50 cents a day considering that it was costing me $12 a day to smoke I'd still be ahead of the game but a carto usually lasts me about 7-10 days in a carto tank
While I love cartos, I know that they cost me more than it would be if I had just stayed with my eGo-T set-up. The tank attys last forever, and they're not that expensive, 8-9usd/1.

My girlfriend's father has an eGo-T that we got him back in July, and he's so far lost 1 atty. I've gone through 30 cartos or so since September. :p

Here & There
When I figure out how to save money I'll let ya know. I think it involves someone taking my credit card away from me.

Seriously though---stock up during sales, there are contest threads you might win, consider DIY, buy at places that have reward points towards future purchase, compare prices or ask on the forum who has the best prices on the thing you need next, use the coupon code master list,--- really there are so many ways. I have to do all of these things because I'm in a two vaper home and yeah it adds up quickly.

Not read all the replies so sorry if I'm repeating.

I find it is a lot cheaper to refill/top up or fill my own. For my main vape I buy prefilled cartos and keep them topped up with juice from the same vendor but I also buy blank boges and fill with juice of my choice (or my own) and they work just as well.
Still starting out and trying to get a stock up but I have gone from spending approx £150 a month to £30 to £50 this month (I don't count my start up costs which were higher)

I broke even WAY back...and I went a bit crazy and have tried much of the never ending. cool assortment of pv's, and cartos and attys and tanks and flavors, and started modding and...sorry...see what I mean! Even with my, umm, vaping tech interest I am still way ahead...I was paying almost $10 per pack (good ol' NY taxes!). For me, quitting analogs and all their nasty aspects ended up being a hobby that I actually enjoy very much, I am much healthier, and with any luck dodged the cancer bullet...so the savings is just a BONUS!

If you shop sales, fill and clean your own cartos, read and ask questions before you buy, etc, etc the savings are significant...and you can always DIY if you really wanna save a bunch...so I never get it when people say vaping is costing them more than analogs. How? Either they smoked next to nothing or are buying mall vape kits and all pre-filleds and putting down 10ml a day!

Upgrade to the Riva on Liberty-Flights.com mentioned by several people already. It will allow you to go out and not worry. It's fairly small, about the size of a Sharpie, but has good battery life (about 6 hours).

Pick up 3 5 packs of Boge LR (2ohm) cartomizers $20 here with a free drip tip, fill syringe, and free shipping Crystal Clear Vaping

I don't recommend DIY until you figure out what strength and flavors of juice you like. Buy sample sizes (3ml or 5ml) at first, in 80PG/20VG mix and 18mg or 24mg strength. There are plenty of great vendors on ECF. One of my favorites with a wide range of good flavors and options is VaporBomb.com

I don't DIY. My monthly maintenance costs are about $40/month.

I'd recommend a Riva or eGo starter kit that contains 2 complete ecigs and a charger, along with a couple of boxes of Boge low resistance cartomizers. The Boge cartos cost about $8 for a box of 5. If you use a high PG juice, you can get a week out of a carto. That's 5 weeks from an $8 boxof cartos and a 30ml bottle of your favorite juice for $15 or so that will last you several weeks.

I'm a Backwoods Brew fan normally (thought I'd mention that, Whiskey), but Welcome to MadVapes LLC has a sale on all their juices right now. You can get 30ml and 50ml bottles for $8.99. They also sell cartos. You can also buy smaller bottles right now from them for as low as $1.79, so that's an opportunity to order lots of small samples for a low price.

I have been running coffee espresso through the same carto for over two months. It's not the coffee flavor that clogs a carto, it's all the cream & sugar added to some of them.
