Tried everything to quit smoking and nothing would work. I was always online. Searching Google for stop smoking stuff. Tried all the stuff out there. Even went cold turkey for three weeks after reading alan's book. I found e-cigs while searching. I order me a super mini which was junk. Than I order another e-cig that was junk. I almost gave up until I found the forum. Got information on e-cigs from the forum.

I've been vaping since 4-24-2009. Luckily a friend told me about the e-cig and after some intense research I decided that this is what I needed to do. I am a 30 year 3 pack a day smoker. I have been able to cut back to less than 1/2 pack per day so far. My plan is to stop all together as soon as I get enough parts and the right liquid. I do not want to "try" to quit and fail. Hopefully I will succeed. Among my other health issues I have developed copd. I have already seen big relief from that! Here's to our future.

An international flight prompted a co-worker of mine to tell me about them, with just 3 days before leaving, I found an amazon seller who overnighted me an Npro with some carts. Just enough to last the flight there, and the flight back.

That's exactly what I did, except I was driving from New York to the Maritimes and I wanted to smoke in the car! I had an Npro overnighted to me from Amazon just before we left. Of course, I ran out of carts in 2 days instead of the 10 days I was led to expect, so I immediately started scrounging around for juice in Canada.

I'm also a gadget lover, but my main reason to quit tobacco was because I could not breath anymore. My face was actually swollen in the morning, my eyes puffy black circles all the time...I felt totally awful. No energy, 4 sessions of double pneumonia in 10 years, new allergies, sinus infection, coughing ALL the time, even in my sleep. I couldn't take out the garbage without stopping to get my air. The last delivery (re-upholstered couch) we made I really thought I was getting the BIG ONE. Took me an hour to get my breath back and quit shaking.
.....THOSE THINGS ARE ALL GONE NOW!!
THEN: Big Brother raised the tax again. Our roll-your-own tobacco went from $11+ a pound to more than $40 per pound. Great reason to throw it in!

So I went shopping on eBay, of course, and found the NPRO. Was a great smoke, but cartidge so tiny, had to go for the DSE801, and there were a few in between that! Now looking forward to the Janty Stick, can't wait!! Will be like Christmas, only better.

By the way, I had smoked for 44 years, the last couple years smoked 2-3 or more packs a day. REALLY OUT OF CONTROL. And (I know, I'm wordy) I got my NPRO on March 9th, and had one cigarette that day. It was my last one.

I wish I had a real altruistic reason for trying e-cigs, but the initial reason was: I was tired of going outside in the heat/cold to smoke. The rest is history. ;)

However, I benefited in so many more ways! No more smoker's cough, recover faster from a cold, more stamina, better lung function, asthma is under control.

Quitting just happened. It was not on my to do list at the time.

I'm new to e-cigs. I havent even tried it yet, waiting for the package in the mail on firday, just ordered the red dragon starter kit. I'm a trained mixed martial arts fighter. I've only had one fight even tho I've been training for 5 years because of my lack of cardio from smoking. I know I have the skill to do well, but in pro sports cardio is huge. I've tried every other way of quitting smoking and just couldnt so I'm really hoping this works.

My state threatened to outlaw smoking everywhere the public is welcome, so figured I better do something and quick..... Going "cold turkey" is just not an option! I do want to quit but I have to do it on my own time not anyone else's.

Just today, my state house actually passed the bill, so I am very thankful to have found this alternative. We are just waiting on our Gov. to sign it for it to become law, which will be effective 1/2/2010.

It is healthier for all who surround me in a day and myself. I am not grumpy or "jonesing" for an analog, which is really surprising to me.

Hoping to keep vaping and not smoking!! :D

Why? Thats easy...
I've been trying to quit on and off for 20 years. Never made it more than 5 days without an analog. Pills, patches, gum, herbal remedies; nothing worked. A friend recomended e-cigs about a year ago and I really didnt think about them again until I started having trouble breathing. In the last three weeks (give or take a day or two) I have cut my analog smoking by 75% and am looking forward to be tobacco free before the end of May. I can breath better. I am not coughing up disgusting goo every morning. I feel more energetic. And best of all I no longer live with the guilt of knowing that each time I lite an analog that I am selfishly killing myself and hurting those who love me. For the first time in my history of trying to quit I have hope.

Awww, I can relate to the daughter melting the heart. My teen daughter read an article about e-cigs and was so excited about getting me one for my birthday (with her Dad's help) that she couldn't keep it a secret. She'd already researched them a bit when she showed me all her links. Initially, I was concerned about losing my cigarettes (for my birthday no less!) but the more I read about the e-cig the more I was confident it would work and eventually became even more excited than my daughter had been.

I'm quite grateful that she gave me such a loving and thoughtful gift and think it's the kind of thing that will keep me off cigarettes when things get rough (thinking about what this must mean to her kept me from lighting up when my charger broke). I'm also quite grateful to the people here for being so helpful, informative and sharing so much of their e-cig experiences.

My husband mostly. I've smoked off and on for 30 years, but my husband hates it and every time I quit I feel awful. Everyone says 'you'll feel so much better' but I don't, in fact, it's the exact opposite. I haven't had a cigarette in several years and I was about to buy a pack, expense be damned, when I found e-cigs. The gum just wasn't cutting it.

I don't want to smoke around the kids and I don't want to stink up the place, so this seemed like the best option. So far I'm liking it.

We're all gonna die of something, I just want to be able to function while I'm here.

I was reading an article in our online newspaper about local politicians pushing the public smoking ban. Virginia's ban will take effect Dec. 1. In the midst of all of the anti-smokers spewing their vile and hateful comments, there was one comment from someone who'd gotten an e-cig and was loving it. I'd never even heard of them. It came at a good time. I'd been wanting to quit for so long. I was sick and tired of the dirty looks and comments from anti-smokers, tired of not being able to smoke in hotels and other places, tired of the smell, tired of going outside, tired of dirty ashtrays, tired of the expense and most of all, I knew what it was doing to me long-term, not to mention the second hand smoke. I was NOT going to give my tax dollars to pay for the health care of others and so the tax increase was the final straw.

I googled and found this site and the rest is history. Aside from a period of time I stopped vaping to see if it was causing my hives, I have no desire for analogs now and feel confident that I'll never look back. :)

Bristow, Ok.
It might have saved me from a life of crime. Cigarettes are so expensive it was getting so we couldn't afford them anymore. We were so addicted I just imagined one day if the taxes kept going up, clubbing someone for a pack of cigarettes with my cane. I didn't want this in my future so I googled stop smoking. My husband is still smoking. As soon as I stop spending money stocking up on supplies I will start saving to fund his smoking habit for after we retire.8-o
