DO NOT use kanthal in temp control or tcr. Your mod should have protection to prevent this but I'm not familiar with that mod.
Ss ti or ni are used for temp control and the mod varies power based on resistance.

I just bought a smok r80 tc.
Video review => SMOK R80 TC Micro One Starter Kit.
Right now I have a 0.3ohm Micro fused clapton core in. Also what is micro fused clapton?

TCR = temperature coefficient of resistance

With temperature control on mods, it is not the actual temperature of the coil(s) that the mod is reading/regulating, it is the coil(s) resistance and its change in resistance (as coils heatup their resistance increases) that the mod regulates and reads, which in effect regulates temperature.
