Temp Control mode help....

Hello All,

So i have been vaping on an rx200 topped with a ohmega alpha bft 30mm (thanks to recommendations by some of you). This thing hits great.

Because of the huge build deck on the bft tank, I have been experimenting with some fused claptons and caterpillar builds. I bought some SS 26 gauge wire and nichrome 80 32 gauge wire. So I am building claptons with 4 core wires of the SS and wrapping them with the nichrome 80.

My question is can I run this build on temp control mode on my rx200 or do I need to just stick to wattage mode?

I would just try it. It should work in theory.

Your RX will flip out of temp control mode into power mode of it cannot read the coil as a TC coil properly. Make sure you set your watts at a reasonable level first!

Thank you Miata...Yea I read that part several places, about setting your wattage. But I just wanted to know if the combination of SS and nichrome wire is ok for temp control mode?

Yes, it is fine for TC mode. Trim the 32awg Nichrome up the legs of the core wires enough that you can mount the coil and are trapping only the SS core wires, this will give the cleanest, clearest reading for the TC circuit. Clapton like coils, it is the core wire that does the major heating work and the wrapping sheathing wire gets it heat from the core wire and does the majority of the vaporizing anyway.

Thank you so much IMFire3605, that's great. I keep trying different claptons, but just figured I should try temp control mode to see how that changes the equation as far as taste, vapor, etc. Best Wishes and thank you again...
