so there's a line of juices I really like...however they are coil gunking nets. We're talking within 2mls and unvapeable.

I don't want to get into coil building and dripping...not least as I have two kittens 9 weeks old who explore and knock everything over...dripper bottle and cat equals a nightmare.

Might a temperature controlled device improve this...if say I could get 5ml+ before the coil tastes like burning ashtray I would be happy...Have read, due to the coil not getting too hot, gunk is I improved...is this so?

Additionally all the temp controlled coils seem real low resistance...am I going to end up blowing clouds or can the temperature be set too make a more tootle puffing experience e.g. Similar to nautilus or gs tank @ 12.5 watts?

Fasttech have the evic 60watt with the 5000mah at a good price...is this a decent device on a budget? Did look at the Eleaf istick 40 watt to but it only seemed to run nickel coils and not titanium.

Thanks for any advice and comments.

The temp control will help somewhat with the gunk, but not really that much in my opinion. Also, many people advice against dry burning nickel or titanium coils, so once it is gunked up, some brush it but most use a new one.

If you find the idea of dripping not for you, thats fine; I don´t like it either. But I would definetly advice you to try and make your own coils. Making your own coils will mean that you use an atty that has an accesible wick and coil that you can clean without much hassle.

On the mater of clouds, they are more in tune with the atty that you use and the air it lets pass... For example, a Kayfun with a 0.06 ohms coil will be fine for mouth to lung and will let a standard cuantity of vapor, while an aromamizer with the same 0.06 ohms coil will blow bigger clouds and is more suitable for a direct lung inhale.

For an TC equipment, the IPV D2 is 40 bucks, small and handles nickel and titanium; you´ll find it in fasttech too.

I am vaping at 80/20 vg/pg right now on my setup and no gunk at all. I use a kanger sub-tank mini. I use the OCC coils. I have talked to others who sometimes have gunk up problems with juices with that high of vg but nothing on my end. It could also just be the juice though. Not all juices are created equally. lol

Same experience here using non cloned subtank nano and the amazing .5ohm OCC VC coils. Plug in and play for about two weeks with zero issues or dry hits etc. Like dripping but with a tank. I use 30W and high VG on it and I'm amazed. (I'm also shocked at how much juice they tear through but hey ho, the vapour is awesome..)

I don't have any experience with NET juices but know their reputation as coil-gunkers. If you want to try the temp control route with your NETs, I'd get a mod that supports Stainless Steel TC to pair with an RTA like the Griffin or Aromamizer (many others to choose from). Stainless can be run in TC or Power mode, and you can dry-burn it, unlike Ni and Ti wire.

Commercial pre-mix often uses a high percent of flavor. It can carmalize on the coil and wick. When I started DIY I made some unflavored with the same percentages of pg,vg, and nic as my premix. Then I cut the premix 3 parts to 1 part. My sense of taste adjusted to the lower percentage and it tastes just as good. Because there is less flavoring that might carmalize coils ad wicks last longer. Win, win. No harm in trying. If you don't have nic in the freezer it's time for that too.

My current DIY mix is just 1% flavoring. There are two additional benefits I didn't expect. Bystanders don't notice the odor of the flavoring and if a little gets on clothing I don't reek.

1. Yes, in my experience, temperature control significantly reduces gunking of coils and coils last 20% or more longer.

2. You can get temperature control coils for both the Nautilus and the GS. I run TC coils in my Nautilus all of the time at 450F and 16W without a problem. I don't use NETs, but I typically get about a month and a half of use from a single coil. I'm sure you could get at least 5 days out of one, if not more.

But he does NOT want to build his own coils.

Calm down. Some of us are getting old and forget everything we read by the time we get through all the posts, especially when we have a migraine. And there are prebuilt SS coil heads. There's no need to be rude.

Posted this ages back and suddenly lots of replies...thanks people...

In the meantime I started building my own coils, both for rta's and rda's...of course the net juices I vape gunk coils but I now just dry burn and rewick.

As an aside I have been experimenting with different types of coils and builds, in an attempt to find the bees for avoiding gunk...

A 4mm Id with 26awg spaced coil is doing me proud. About 7-8 wraps...1.7ohms... About 5 ml so far and still good...

But he does NOT want to build his own coils.

But, what if that is the best solution to the problem.......... NET, dark and sweet juices are gunky. No mod or atomizer will fix that.
If you don't want to have to replace coil heads constanly, you build your own. I use RDA, RTA and Geni tanks, takes all of 5 minutes to re-wick/clean. 10-15 minutes to do a new coil. The Geni's often take more time and effort, to setup. but once you get it dial in they are the cleanest IMO. Just takes a little bit of practice. Granted, I don't do TC or any regulation. I know I could reduce the gunking if I had more control over the power supplied, But there would still be gunk.

Indeed it is the juice, good nets tend to be coil gunkers ataf!

Aye yes I ended up biting the bullet and rebuilding...glad I did?
