Just ordered a D2 and some titanium. Can you guys recommend a good tank and build for me. I've been using a subtank Mini rba and arctic. Flavor is more important than clouds, but I do like a good looking inhale. A good clone works too. Thanks!

I know I am late to the party, but I can and would recommend the Merkava RTA - a great flavor RTA - fairly easy to build (but you will need an allen key/hex key to push the coil down) and I've run it in temperature mode for the last couple of months. I use 8 wraps 30g nickel with 2.5 ID coil for .15 ohm. If you get this device, just be sure and throughly clean it to get the best flavor. I just scrubbed it with Dawn using a toothbrush and let it air dry.

@Freedom2Vape is the Merkava easy to wick? Do you just have to drag the wick down into the gaps on the sides of the base where the juice flow control is? And on it's highest setting of 2.5 mm afc, is it more of a mouth to lung vape, or more of a mild type of lung inhale? Do you have any other top notch rtas that are popular to compare it to flavor wise? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm really between this and the rose v2, and don't know if it's the best choice due to lack of reviews. Thanks

Have you looked at the Merkava thread here on ECF? Here is a link just in case:

The wick is very straightforward, IMO - just cut it off flush with the outer diameter on both sides - there is a good picture on the last page of the Merkava thread that shows this.
With the AFC on its highest setting, the Merkava is more of a mild lung inhale.
The Merkava compares favorably with the Rose - both are great flavor RTAs. I just found the Rose was more difficult for me to get the wick set correctly. I had problems with flooding. The Rose thread is great for helping get it setup and getting help. Here is the link just in case:

As far as other flavor RTAs, I can recommend the Flash-e-Vapor v3, Ubertoot RTA (difficult to find though - recommend you join UKVapers and watch the Ubertoot UTA thread), GG Tilemahos V2, the Ataman II, and the byLeo Calix. Many of these are discussed in this thread started by sedge: https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/rebuildable-tank-atomizers-an-anthology-pictorial-builds-and-reviews.633689/.
I hope that helps.

I'd recommend the Crown personally.
I'm vaping it on a D2 and SX Mini M using TC.
What a great vape. I understand the RBA deck is a bit to get the wicking right, but that's because everyone is used to different methods. If you don't have lots of experience wicking other coils, I don't think it would be a problem at all.

@Freedom2Vape Thanks! I'm really looking into the Merkava and Tilemahos v2plus. Flash e vapor 3 sounds excellent but I've never worked with mesh before and don't know if it would be difficult. Qorax was describing to me how though a lot of these have even 2.5 mm of airflow, even with with calix or merkava, you can super sub ohm with them. Not going down that much, just to about .3 or .35, and how it all really depends on how you wick it. If this is the case, even with something such as the Merkava, I'd love to purchase one, for I really don't need that much airflow. I'd just like the capability of building hotter coils. Any of your input on your experience or thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

I just don't want to buy a product for over 100 dollars and not be satisfied, and not want to return it either. It wouldn't be the fault of the manufacturer.

I've run my Merkava with a .4Ω Ti coil and a .2Ω Ni200 coil and the vape is still very flavorful. I do have to crank up the watts to get the warm vape I like (22-25W). I prefer to build 1.0Ω coils and run it at 13-15W, though, which extends my battery life. @sedge has a nice thread about wicking the FEV - once the mesh straws are built correctly, you really don't have to mess with them. Here is the link to the build for it
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=14891148
so you can judge for yourself. I think you would like either of these two flavorful RTAs (Merkava, FEV), as well as the Tilemahos v2plus. I don't have the v2plus, but I've been very happy with the Tilemahos V2.

thanks @Freedom2Vape there's just too many to choose from, I kind of get screwy in the head just looking at all of them since I don't really have a good single coil one to compare them to. I've narrowed it down to those couple, yet just when I logged on to check my messages I was looking up the calix even moreso. lol Never ending. Thanks for all the feedback.

The Calix is another great flavor RTA that I really enjoy. Be aware that it gets its AF from the 510 connector, which, for me, results in a bit of e-juice on the 510 connector - especially at higher wattage (not much, but annoying). ByLeo is working on a new base with side AFC, to which I am looking forward. Here is a link to the thread.

I have been using a Lemo Drop and Crown on my IPV 4S. The lemo has a slight edge for flavor, and the Crown has a slight edge for ease of build (and accessing deck on full tank, etc.). For me they are a bout equal right now (owned the crown for a bout a week only).

I'm trying different builds still, but my current build with the Lemo is Ti coil at 0.29 Ohms, 80 watts..er joules. The crown is at 0.25 Ohms and running at 90J. Temp is at 410F for both.

I'm using titanium right now in my Aqua V2 on a D2. Have had this tank a couple weeks and this is my second build. The first build was 316L (wattage mode) and both were non-fiddly. The airflow is good but is restricted compared to a sub-ohm clearo though you can do a lung enhale. Flavor is great.

There are a couple helpful Aqua threads here on ECF.
