I agree with the other. I have two 18490's and they have their time and place and work great for all my builds. Since you already have the batteries you should add one to the line-up.

I was tempted by a mini too pretty soon after I got my Grand, so I gave in and got one 
I've currently settled on coils at about the 1.3 ohm mark and I've found an AW 18490 will comfortably go through a bottle fill on the mini and performs pretty similarly to an 18650 in the Grand (not much difference in voltage drop) - although for not as long of course. Having said that, if you are only drawing about 3 amps from the battery there is only about a 10% difference in mAh between the two down to about 3.5 volts and I wouldn't be going below that before I changed the battery anyhow. For me then the mini works really well and it is such a dinky little unit that near enough disappears in the top pocket of a shirt
Of course if you go down a few notches on the resistance the difference is going to start to be much more significant and I wouldn't think sub ohm is a good idea with an 18490.
