Was watching Bursardo's review of Blu and near the end he was talking about anything that gets you off of analogs, analogs this, analogs that.
That clicked something in my head, since so many are in the habit of calling regular cigarettes "analogs", maybe we should get in the habit of calling e-cigs "digitals"

Thoughts?

IMO, f we want to keep our right to vape, we need to steer our slang towards things that get the media and medical people on our side. Watching the FDA hearings, the word "combustibles" for stinkys resonates really well with anti-smokers, even those who are also against vaping. It emphasizes what is right about smoke-free alternatives, by emphasizing it's the SMOKE that is killing people.

We talked on here a lot about dropping the "cig" from "e-cigs" but the media has already jumped on that bandwagon, so I think we should try to keep the amount of momentum going but encourage the media to differentiate between e-cigarettes vs "combustibles."

I wholeheartly agree. I created a thread in the New Members Forum arguing that vaping is a completely new medium. Considering how many there are in our community, I believe we are at a point where we can finally begin distinguishing PVs from "quitting tools" to a distinct form of personal pleasure along the lines of cigar, pipe, or shisha smoking. Let's not make the mistake of sticking our beloved hobby into a tiny little sub-niche. We have to make a new paradigm of vaping before the Big Bads attempt to push us down for the sake of money or "health and safety".
