Terminology

Hey guys, in the new members forum I've noticed there is a ton of misused terminology. This has been cut down a fair bit due to the efforts of the wonderful ecf staff, but it is still a fairly large issue. If the proper terminology isn't used it makes it harder for people to understand, thus making it harder for them to answer your question. The following is a short list of some of the lingo:
Cart= cartridge
Carto= cartomizer
Atty= atomizer
Atomizer and atomiser= same thing, spelling varies based on area, doesn't really matter.
ecig= sealed battery tube with button(1 piece battery)
mod= pv with drop in battery, consisting of multiple pieces by nature i.e.. top cap, bottom cap, battery etc...
These seem to be the most common, feel free to add more to the thread!

"Cardo" is meaningless gibberish.... it's CARTO.

Simply those who are spelling the word phonetically according to their pronunciation of it. The north American English pronunciation of the 't' sound (carTomizer, ciTy, poTTy, aTTy) is rendered closer to a 'd' so we get: carDomizer; ciDDy; poDDy; aDDy etc etc.

Just poor spelling, that's all...and grist to the mill of this English teacher :sneaky:

Sure, its phonetic... If you only go to a brick and mortar, don't look at VapePorn on the web and don't read this forum...

Otherwise, there's really no excuse lol

I think anything a new person says is fine. They don't know and 1/2 the websites use the wrong terminology.

Even if you don't know what something is called, describe it and ask. Just don't be offended if someone corrects you so other people know too.

My pet peeve are people who aren't new and answer questions with initials. Or better yet, answer with initials and no links.
TV has great juice! LG has the best mods! Who in the hell are they? You can't even google to find out.

I agree....I'm not new and still get thrown by some of the abbreviations people use for vendors.
