Hello everyone! So I've been vaping for about a month now. My first tank was the excellent Kangertech Mini Protank 2 - great flavor, low profile, and attractive looking :)

I wanted something a little larger, so I stopped by a local vape shop and bought the Kangertech Pro tank 3 (full size, NOT mini)

At first I loved it... but quickly regretted my purchase. After only about a week I had MAJOR leakage issues - so much so it would begin to floud out after 10 or so draws. I would clean it out, replace coils... nothing worked.

I later found out that the "Dual Coil" bull..... was a complete lie. Apparently the shorter non-stem coils are the "true" dual coils, and the long coils (the two they include in the package, were not...

Not only is it false advertising, it's a hassle to have to re-open my battery every hour or so to make sure it's not leaking.

Bubbling/gurgling after only a few hits is a problem...

I returned it and I'll be sticking with my kanger mini for the time being.

Anyone else have problesm with their Protank 3??

I've heard this a lot. There must be a bad batch of kangers going around. If you're looking for something a little bit larger I'd try the aspire nautilus mini. They're like 35 bucks

The longer stem coils are the dual coils. The short coils are single coils that fit the PT1 and PT2. Check the rubber gasket on the coils to make sure it sits flush. If there's too much space there, the coils flood because they let in too much juice. Also, make sure the coils themselves are screwed all the way into the PT3 base.

If you have a tall PT type coil taller than the PT 1-2s heads they are PT3 heads. There is more than one PT3 head and the ones with nubs on top are to my knowledge the non kanger heads. PT3's will take the PT3 head the one with exposed wicks, The Aerotank head the one with 4 holes drilled 2 on each side and the wicks inside that, then the Aerotank Mega head which has 2 racetrack shape cuts in the sides. If your leaking there can be a couple of causes and that would be that the PT3 is not screwed together good and you have a leak in the top of the tank. Which brings up where is the leak at? I have 2 pt3s using all the diff style heads no leaks. You should skip from the PT to the Aerotank or the Aerotank mega they have better airflow control than the PT3. I have every generation of PT so i know a bit about them.

Some of the longer-stemmed coils are dual coils as well. If you really wanna know if you've been ripped off or not, count the # of wicks. If there's 2, it's a single coil. If there are 3, you got a dual coil. If you can't count the wicks then just pop the top off and look :p If you find yourself staring at a coil, it's dual coil. If it's just a strand of silica, it's a single coil.

I know this because my PT3 came with 2 of the short replacements... Ordered some more when those had burnt out, and they were the long stems like I ordered for my PT2. Thinking I'd been ripped off, I tore one of the new ones apart and ripped the coils out... Sure enough, there were 2 in there. Don't waste a coil like I did, just do it on a used one :D

As for your leaking... That's gonna vary coil to coil. Worst case scenario, you can always take the old silica wicks out and throw some cotton wicks in... It's really not that hard to do and cotton will expand a lot more than silica when wet and help stop the flow of juice from leaking out through the 510 connection.
