here it will do it for you.. Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

I'm sorry I'll just be a ignorant hazard to society. Because I doubt I will ever bother to memorize enough of that crap to ever pass your test.. I've read it I understand it I can't explain it, I don't need to do the math there are calculators for that. I just need to know that there are LIMITS to vaping, and that I need to check that I stay within those limits.... I do not need to know WHY of everything. I only need to know where safe ends and UN safe begins.
Ignorant you are yes, because clearly a simple algebra equation is crap.

like oh em gee 3.9 / 20 is like soooo difficult, I can't believe this guy expects me to do basic division, what a jerk.

honestly I don't understand the lack of drive and willful ignorance of some people. is it really that hard? is it? basic multiplication and division, so difficult that you chose to not even attempt to use any brain power at all. Here is a thought, instead of relying on someone else to do the work for you, show some pride and willingness to understand your hobby.

Here is a vid I made to break it down so anyone - even me (if you can make it thru my ramblings :) ) can understand :)

http://youtu.be/QQbWVHSiltQ

You may not be able to answer the OPs questions but you will understand battery safety and ohms law I promise.

Here's the charts from the vid:

You don't have to be an electrical engineer or have a degree in electrical engineering to vape safely, just basic knowledge of what amp draw your battery can handle and how to calculate the amp draw you build to :)

Here's my answers using the trailer park math required.

1. Define ohms law using a short paragraph, and show the equation below.

Voltage divided by resistance (ohms) = amps

2. Define watts law using a short paragraph, and show the equation below

Voltage x amps = watts

3. Draw a simple open circuit.

-/ -

4. Draw a simple closed circuit
---

5. Find the resistance of a circuit running at 3.9 volts with a 20 amp current

0.195ohms

6. Find the voltage of a circuit running at .54 ohms with a 5 amp current

2.7v

7. Find the wattage of a 4.1 volt circuit at 2.3 ohms

4.1 / 2.3 = 1.78 amps
4.1 x 1.78 amps = 7.29 watts

8. You are wrapping a dual coil set up, while pinching your coil with metal tweezers you accidentally press the fire button,
the leg of the coil you are wrapping fires bright and then disintegrates, why has this happened?

I don't pinch coils. That is old school technology and went out with the hoola hoop. These days we run the artistic wire coil gizmo and wind under tension. This eliminates the needs to heat and squeeze coils.

9. Your mechanical mod is getting extremely hot, is making odd noises, and has an odd smell, what is happening
and what is the procedure in this situation?

You have built a build that has exceeded the maximum continuous discharge rating of your batteries and will soon vent. You should rebuild to a resistance well within the MCD of your battery.

10. What is the lowest safe resistance of a 4.2v lithium ion battery rated at 20 amps?

0.21 ohms.

11. You have been using a battery for several hours now, and have noticed a sharp decline in vapor production,
why is this happening?

The battery has depleted and should be swapped with a fresh battery. Never let your batteries drop to 3.7 volts because this will decrease the useful like of the battery. Let your battery rest at least 1 hour off the charger.

12. You wrap a coil that reads .42 ohms on your multimeter, what important factor should be remembered while using this coil?

Multimeters, especially inexpensive ones are are prone to "jump around". Invest in a high quality multimeter.

13. You are using 2 stacked 18350 lithium ion batteries in your mod, what kind of circuit is this? what changes because of this?
what does not change?

Dunno. I don't stack 18350 batteries anymore since I run only mech mods.

I've never used the equation in my life. I hate math. My brain freezes up when attempting even the simplist equations. (I got a D- in high school Algebra.)

Most people on ECF would consider me a sort of safety expert concerning vaping. I know what batteries are safe for the resistance I build to. I know not to pull more amps than the battery has to offer safely. I know how to use the calculators. That's all you really need to know. KISS. (Keep It Simple Stupid)

I can't explain Ohm's Law, but I wrote the Ohm's Law for Dummies and Explain It To The Dumb Noob; Ohm's Law Calculations from doing some basic research so that simple vapers weren't intimidated by Ohm's Law. I have a fair idea of what is going on between battery and coil electrically speaking without really knowing the technicalities of Ohm's Law or electricity.

Learning to use the calculators properly is about the best you'll get from a lot of vapers.

Exactly. I dont make a living off knowing that stuff so I use calculators. I still have a very good understanding of whats going on. I still consider myself "smart" Bad is a safety guru, I learned most of what I know from reading stuff he wrote so I usually agree with him. This is no different, I do NOT feel it is nessacary to know all the formulas off heart and what have you. To each his own though and YMMV. I hate math so I always try to KISS

I like that part about the artistic gizmo aha. I REALLY love the wealth of info you provide man without you I wouldn't have gotten one of them things. You, Bad, Rayden (sp-you know who you are) and a few others have really helped me and TBH without you guys when it came to vapeing I would be as stupid as a stump. Thanks to you guys I wrap my own coils, make my own juice, educate people about batteries who WORK at shops lol. You guys rock, the other members are so-so (kidding guys)

It's a series circuit. Could be a series / parallel circuit if the build is parallel.

Resistance and current handling capabilities of the cells don't change.

Voltage and current draw increase. This means power increases also.
