There really isn't any other way to test your juice without using an atomizer, cartridge or cartomizer. The easiest and most economical way is to use an atomizer and drip to test new juice. If you fill a cartomizer and then decide you don't like the taste, you'll either have to wash out the carto and if you can't get enough of the flavor out then you might end up tossing it. A cartridge might be better than a cartomizer because at least you can just rinse it out and you've only lost about 1ml of juice.

I drip most of the time and it's the easiest way for me to try new flavors. If you want to switch flavors, you can just blow them out and add a couple of drops of unflavored VG to get rid of the previous flavor.

You can use blue foam stuffing in a cart - it can be pulled, rinsed, patted dry. I just test that way - if the foam is clean the new flavor overtakes the old one on the atty pretty quickly. If I was doing professional reviews I would use a clean atty.

I tried dripping for testing but I don't have a ton of attys and it seemed to take a lot longer to get the old flavor out of the atty. With the cart there is less of the old flavor on the atty.

BTW - dripping is not recommended with auto batteries or any battery with an open hole in the end unless you have spares. If juice drips on the end of an auto battery it could kill it or gunk up the drag sensor.

I just did a ZFM mod on my No. 7 Stealth E-Cig. It uses a resivoir instead of the pollyfill. I'd imagine that since it's a resivoir instead of a "sponge" you could just wash out the resivoir, drip your flavor, try it, then wash it out again if you don't like it and switch back to your original. The residual liquid that is left on the atomizer might take a little while to vaporize away, but I would guess you'll be back to your original tasting liquid in no time. I'll test it out and let you know.
