Hi Everyone!

Honey girl is feeling a lot better this evening. Thank goodness for that!!

We had intermittent periods of light, soaking rain this afternoon that we really needed. This had the added benefit of keeping everyone else indoors and my girl was able to go to bed and rest and not be bothered. So it all worked out real good.

Not much else happening around here. Oh, and salem, you're not crazy for taking care of animals ... you're sweet.

TT

Oh! I am so glad to know that the rest has helped her. You are right, when it comes to the animals, I will defend them to the end. They and small children are the innocents in life IMO :)

TT, I have been like this about animals all of my life. I can remember being 3 years old and sneaking out to collect all of the strays in the neighborhood. My mom found me in the kitchen dumping a gallon of milk on the floor for them to eat lol I am like Dr Doolittle Ha! Even the untamed animals seem to trust me. Always have.

When my son was in middle school, his science teacher tried to force him to collect and kill bugs. Pin them on a poster board and write a book report on each. He could not do it and I was proud of the fact that he had enough respect for life not to do it. I had to go to the school and duke it out with his teacher. Trust me, my son is no sissy either.

Kind of ironic that he turned out to have his own Pest Control company lol

My wife calls me an "untamed animal" sometimes so you must trust me too.

And I hope you will add old men to your list of the endangered and innocent!

TT

I don't know how innocent old men are lol It would be hard to live a long life and still be "innocent" I am not so sure that I am innocent anymore either. But, yes, you know that I trust you.

I have a HUGE baby hawk out there right now that thinks he is my pet. He loved the ice water bath yesterday and today

I have a squirrel named Shirley that has been here for years and will eat from my hand. If I am not out there with her peanuts by 6PM, she comes up on the porch, scratches on my sidelight at the door and sits in the rocking chair waiting for me lol I have quite a collection out there.

Well Salem: I know where I can dump off some evil woodchucks. J/K I love animals as well. Some actually taste good. :D I actually cannot go into a humane society. I see those cute little animals and I want them all. I actually adopted my two kittens from a farm. They are two years old now but they are spoiled. In addition, they are leash trained cats.

EDit: I really want a skunk but DH said "no".

I donate to our local shelter when I am able to. Food, bleach, blankets. etc. It kills me to go there too. I almost volunteered there but they euthanize :( My heart could not take it.

And you know how I feel about you shooting the woodchucks!
Unless they are rabid and could be a danger. I even tolerate snakes.

TT

Yeah but if you want a good laugh, zero in on my street lol My mom insists it has to do with me being Mrs Murphy :)

Oh, and I am right in the middle. Both ends are getting it, I am sure!

Rain would be good, but doesn't do a whole lot for the water table. That comes mostly from melt-off of the snow in the mountains. Had almost none this winter.

True. Almost everyone had a very mild winter this year. I knew that July and August were going to be record breakers for most areas.
