so i started to do DIY juice for 2 weeks, and i've been loving the flavors from TFA, i really wanted some peach-strawberry green tea so i ordered the green tea from TFA, well sad to say that their GT is so horrible, smell really funky, has no smell of tea at all, and if i have to describe the smell of it, i'm sorry it smell just like piss. i'm pretty sure all of us know the smell of that. idk if i have to steep it to get the smell and flavor of gt outta it but as of now it is just too disgusting. i'm leaving the bottle of already mixed peach strawberry and gt there for a couple of day to see if it will improve. but yeah if you're thinking of getting gt from tfa please avoid it. but everything else they're superb! if someone have a good source for tea please shine the light for me. and a good recipe will always be appreciated!

Sounds like it to me.

Many times it is the flavoring that has to be used at very low amounts that is the hardest to figure out. I've got one that works at 0.35% for me and it was a bear to figure that out.

wow .35%????? holy smokes how would i be able to figure it would be that low without this forum? hoosier, how did the flavor treating you though? do u get a good amount of tea-ness out of it? i really want something that the bitterness of the tea to stand out a little bit.

My 0.35% isn't for TPA/TFA's Green Tea, because I don't have that one in my mess 'o flavorings.

But I do know Linda's teas and coffees tend to be on the amazingly strong side of the strength spectrum.

That is also one of the reasons that if the flavoring seems strong to me, I grab a 15ml bottle and experiment with 10ml batches. Large enough batch so I can be fairly precise with the flavoring measurement and leave enough room if I still manage to overshoot it.

The OP made it out to be a level 7 mix, so I'll bet a new mix with the tea at 1% will give you a better idea of where it needs to go from there.

One suggestion with really strong flavors is to dilute them down to make measuring easier. For instance, in a 10 ml bottle, add 1 ml flavor and 9 ml of your pre-mixed base. Then instead of trying to measure .025 ml to get .5% in a 5 ml batch, you can use .25 ml of your diluted flavor. It really reduces the margin of error and makes mixing easier.
I definitely had to do this with TFA's m-type.
