I made an horchata mixture of 5% using the plain tfa horchata. Had it in my plastic tank for about a week. Notified it tastes like a heavy cinnamon flavor but can't find information on it. The tank did crack, but the tank did survive a previous issue in which it was scratched. Does a tank crack over the period of a week or is I generally instantaneous? Has anyone else had a problem with cracking tanks with an horchata mix?

horchata is a cinnamon flavor and they are notorious for being a tank cracker. The ones I have cracked happened right away. My friend said hers kept getting worse and leaking. That is the main reason I have started buying only glass atomizers. That way I don't have to worry about it.

Here is a pretty darn good list of the tank crackers so it could give you an idea.

Good luck.:)

I just used TFA horchata, was very disappointed. I am calling them Monday to find out what is up. All I taste is cinnamon red hots, not as strong as when I get the flavor but there is no ther flavor in it. I have never had horchata the drink but was intrigued and wanted to try it. In speaking with staff at work that are Hispanic, they say it should be more of a bakery cinnamon. Maybe I'm wrong and I will have to empty that tank because even though I have about 15 Evods, I will be ...... if one breaks they are my tasting tanks.

It sounds like you're using Horchata Base rather than their Horchata Smooth. The Smooth version has reduced spices to allow you to taste the rice milk flavor (supposedly - I've never gotten around to trying it). You are right that the Horchata Base tastes like nothing but cinnamon (and maybe some other buried spice). I use that one at 0.5-1% as a bakery cinnamon flavor in recipes.

I use a KFL with the plastic tank section - no problems here..

Here's my recipe for Golden Horchata. Good Fresh after a few hours with a hot water bath.

Thanks for the recipe, I just finished my mixing for today, plus I don't have all the ingredients but I am going to give it a try soon
