Tfv8 sadness

long story short had a stainless, worked perfect. Wanted a black so I got one and all it does is .... juice out the air holes.

I noticed that the top seal on the stainless has a HUGE fill hole and the black tank has a fill hole like the tfv4! Wtf? Anyone else notice this?

Mt black TFV8 leaked badly on the first fill. Then I discovered it was missing an O-ring. Has been OK since putting it on (it was in the parts bag). I don't know about the fill hole on the stainless steel TFV8, but on my black one, it is a bit bigger then the TFV4, but wish it were a bit larger.

Agreed, but you probably would have caught that during the initial tare down cleaning ?

I never liked the flavor on this tank, I had no leaks though.

Edit: You know what I actually just cracked open my TFV4 and used the double coil RBA deck, and boy it is so TASTY! The TFV4 is something you should look into.

Complacency. Particularly at an advanced age. Or perhaps forgetfulness?

I have both colors in the tfv4 also. I changed the top full seal with the big ... hole from the stainless tank, switched could and glass and it has been ok since then. But it really is odd they made them so differently.
