Oh my, I can't believe that after 40 years of being totally addicted to smoking that as of this very second, I am 52 hours, 40 minutes, and 28 seconds past my last cigarette. That is an absolute MIRACLE! Here's how it happened. I went into Smoker Friendly as usual to get my 2 cartons to hold me over for a couple of weeks and made my usual comment, "Geez almighty, I gotta quit these things but it's so hard I feel without any hope of that ever happening!" Then the young lady behind the counter said the magic words.... "Well have you seen our new e-cigarettes, only just got them 2 weeks ago....?"

The rest is history. I laid down $75 on the spot. I didn't get consistent vapor and was disappointed, but saw some real hope when I discovered the "manual" kind of e-cig online, then discovered 'Rocky Mountain Vapor' here in Colorado, just 1.5 hours from me. In my desperation and newfound hope I made a quick trip up to the mountains on Labor Day and got both the 901 and the JOYE 510 (love them both). I ended up getting 3 extra sets for close relatives. They are thrilled and because of that, so am I. I just ordered a Janty Stick yesterday so I'm looking forward to checking that out. (In case you think I'm rich, I'm not, but oh boy, getting myself and others off the analogs is worth all I've got)

I'm using Vanilla or Mint with 11 mg Nicotine, and that seems just fine. I want to get some 0% Nicotine and see how I do on that. Before I quit smoking, for at least the last couple of years, I altered my smoking because I HAD to. I couldn't breathe, and I was so sick feeling all the time. I started using the little plastic filters and inhaling a lot fewer puffs. That was imperative if I wanted to have any quality of life left.

After such a short time of not smoking analogs (2 days!) I can't tell you how much better I feel already. I'm giving it some time to see if I can regain anything I think I might have maybe not permanently lost. I honestly don't know how much damage is done but I have one thing to say to you folks under the age of about 45 or 50....you are so blessed to have discovered vaping while you're still young. Don't ever forget it and count your blessings every day. By vaping you will avoid some really uncomfortable symptoms you'd have to deal with daily. I won't make you suffer through it all being described in detail, but just know that in time, you would have suffered daily, and just generally felt sick all the time. I also won't go into all the guilt I've felt for so long either, but it's all gone now, even though I'm still enjoying a little Nicotine. I equate it to some degree to caffine, and don't intend to abuse either, but enjoy both. At least the really awful things are gone, TAR being the worst I guess.

It feels so good to feel more clean now both physically and spiritually. I need to thank God first as he at long last answered my prayer in the affirmative, then Smoker Friendly, the gal behind the counter, this Forum, and all of you for your various forms of support you have given me, a perfect stranger to all of you. I feel a real kinship to you all, and hope I can learn a lot here and then get to help others in turn. At last, all I can say is....

I'M SO EXCITED I CAN'T SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

P.S. Now I'm going to go ask some questions!

Welcome to the forum. It's a great place to be with mostly wonderful, helpful people.

Wonderful post, Emember. You told my story almost word for word.

I was starting to suffer the consequences of my 42 year smoking habit when I heard about the ecig. I, too, prayed for relief from addiction to nicotine and this has been the answer to prayer.

Now to get off the nicotine and feel free and clean again. I love to vape so I might continue at 0 nic but we'll have to wait and see. One day at a time.

Congrats emember! Vaping truly makes a difference. I'm having my first head/chest cold since I started vaping...and so far I'm not as miserable as I was as a smoker with a cold. Don't have the deep chest hacking. But what's even better, I don't have the craving to vape as I did with smoking. It always irritated me that even though I was sick, I'd still smoke. I am vaping with this cold...and using menthol liquid...but it's nice not to have the stupid, stupid craving.

Best wishes and welcome to the forum.

For some reason your post made me think of Dr. Martin Luther King's speech. "Free at last, free at last - thank God Almighty, free at last!" ;)

I feel the same way, and I also have purchased kits for my brother in laws who smoke! So glad I am no longer hooked to those awful cigarettes! Everything about vaping is so much fresher, so much cleaner! I love love love it! So happy to see others who are feeling my joy!

Welcome, Emember! Gee, your story sounds vaguely familiar from what I've seen around here! I'm just over my six-month anniversary and still can't believe it either. Still can't seem to put it down (my Janty Stick!) You will love it! It's just amazing, this vaporizing theory of evolution Revolution. So glad that I shopped like a drunken sailor with the first paycheck there for awhile. But I've since calmed waaaay down. I had to, my bank statement looked almost like my PayPal account! It was pretty obvious.

Thanks so much for all your encouragement! Today is day 3 and I'm loving my 901. The JOYE 510 gives a bigger hit and more vapor so I have to puff it more gently. The 901 is turning out to be perfect for me. Now if I can just get the company to make a copper one (I love the looks of the copper JOYE 510).

I'm really loving the more thin (flat) whistle-tip of the 901, putting it on the 510 (I like the idea of these interchangable parts). Now I need to learn about PG/VG, I'd like to dilute the Nicotine a bit, and experiment with flavors (so far the Mint is great!). So carry on everyone, thanks again for your encouraging responses, and I'll see you around, every day!

Welcome Emember! Glad you found ECF. Remember to stop by often to find really helpful tips and tricks, news, and most of all the occasional coupon code from suppliers (I have saved soo much money from those codes.) It's silly to think you are saving hand over fist from switching to e-cigs in the first place and then you find a 5-10% discount code to save even more... I feel like I'm cheating someone somewhere along the line.

I understand you buying all those PV's right off. I'm that way too. I'm not rich but I'll drop some dough on a starter kit for a friend if it'll get them off analogs. I've already done this for a few buddies and I'd say about half end up repaying me (I don't ask them to) after about 2 weeks to a month. Plus, I get to build my own little network and we trade out liquids and parts (some like one flavor while others don't, etc.)

These things are helping my mother as well and I can never thank them enough for that. Any extra time I get with her pays for it all 100 fold.... scratch that a million fold.... scratch that there is no price I wouldn't pay for extra time with her she's my bright light, my mommy.

Love your story, Colorado! (I spent one of the happiest winters of my life in Cripple Creek, way back before gambling reached it. Wonderful people, incredible scenery.) I keep reading the same story here -- and it's mine too. Haven't had an analog since my V4L kit arrived (and I've still got 4 cartons in the cupboard). Skeptics write, saying, "It sounds too good to be true." Yes, it does. But yes, it IS true! Today, actually, is my one-month anniversary. No withdrawals, no symptoms, just sheer vaping pleasure and total satisfaction!
