Oh my, I can't believe that after 40 years of being totally addicted to smoking that as of this very second, I am 52 hours, 40 minutes, and 28 seconds past my last cigarette. That is an absolute MIRACLE! Here's how it happened. I went into Smoker Friendly as usual to get my 2 cartons to hold me over for a couple of weeks and made my usual comment, "Geez almighty, I gotta quit these things but it's so hard I feel without any hope of that ever happening!" Then the young lady behind the counter said the magic words.... "Well have you seen our new e-cigarettes, only just got them 2 weeks ago....?"
The rest is history. I laid down $75 on the spot. I didn't get consistent vapor and was disappointed, but saw some real hope when I discovered the "manual" kind of e-cig online, then discovered 'Rocky Mountain Vapor' here in Colorado, just 1.5 hours from me. In my desperation and newfound hope I made a quick trip up to the mountains on Labor Day and got both the 901 and the JOYE 510 (love them both). I ended up getting 3 extra sets for close relatives. They are thrilled and because of that, so am I. I just ordered a Janty Stick yesterday so I'm looking forward to checking that out. (In case you think I'm rich, I'm not, but oh boy, getting myself and others off the analogs is worth all I've got)
I'm using Vanilla or Mint with 11 mg Nicotine, and that seems just fine. I want to get some 0% Nicotine and see how I do on that. Before I quit smoking, for at least the last couple of years, I altered my smoking because I HAD to. I couldn't breathe, and I was so sick feeling all the time. I started using the little plastic filters and inhaling a lot fewer puffs. That was imperative if I wanted to have any quality of life left.
After such a short time of not smoking analogs (2 days!) I can't tell you how much better I feel already. I'm giving it some time to see if I can regain anything I think I might have maybe not permanently lost. I honestly don't know how much damage is done but I have one thing to say to you folks under the age of about 45 or 50....you are so blessed to have discovered vaping while you're still young. Don't ever forget it and count your blessings every day. By vaping you will avoid some really uncomfortable symptoms you'd have to deal with daily. I won't make you suffer through it all being described in detail, but just know that in time, you would have suffered daily, and just generally felt sick all the time. I also won't go into all the guilt I've felt for so long either, but it's all gone now, even though I'm still enjoying a little Nicotine. I equate it to some degree to caffine, and don't intend to abuse either, but enjoy both. At least the really awful things are gone, TAR being the worst I guess.
It feels so good to feel more clean now both physically and spiritually. I need to thank God first as he at long last answered my prayer in the affirmative, then Smoker Friendly, the gal behind the counter, this Forum, and all of you for your various forms of support you have given me, a perfect stranger to all of you. I feel a real kinship to you all, and hope I can learn a lot here and then get to help others in turn. At last, all I can say is....
I'M SO EXCITED I CAN'T SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. Now I'm going to go ask some questions!
