I sincerely want to thank you all for welcoming me, supporting me on my journey, making me laugh, making me feel so comfortable and part of The Family. I'm so grateful to have landed here.

When I left ECF three or so years ago it had become a pretty volatile place. It's only because I found NT (and all of you) that I'm posting again - and now ready to take another step forward. I've been scouring the forums for information and I'm not finding answers, I'm just confused. I've been watching tons of YouTube videos, and while somewhat helpful, I'm still not sure what to do.

I hope it's okay to post all of this here.

My story is long, twisty and complicated but my recent struggle with a near relapse back to smoking (yup, I actually even smoked a few cigs) forced me to reevaluate, play catch up and start researching, There are as many options as there are opinions - maybe even more opinions lol.

The recent struggle led me to finally upgrade to a ProVari with Aspire Nautilus tanks. I really love my ProVari. I've wanted one since it was first released. I really like the Nautilus but I think I'm ready to take the next step. I finally ran into the "dead from the pack" new coils
 and cleaning/dry burning etc. is getting to be a grind.

I have a bunch I can rebuild now so I ordered supplies to start my foray into coil builds . I'm going to try the single coil build. If I can do that (and I'm sure I can) I want to get a rebuildable atomizer. I was seriously underestimating myself when I adopted the mantra "you're a girl, you can't rebuild coils - you are way over your head with this stuff"

Russian - Kayfun - Taifun - Kayfun Lite - version whoknowswhatsit - All the abbreviations might as well be a foreign language
 - there are so many... I'm all for supporting authentic but in this case I am thinking I want to start with a clone - more budget friendly (need joooose hoard money hahahah) and if I like it upgrade from there, or; try a couple and see what I like before making the commitment to an atty that costs more than the box mods I've been looking at.

RDA - tell me about this. I used to like dripping and with all the flavors I'm loving right now these huge tanks are not really conducive to easily switching flavors.

With an atty I want something preferably with air flow control (from what I have read and watched? and I love the airflow control on the nautilus). Not mandatory - you guys educate me here.

For all day when on the road or traveling, working, at
the beach, etc. a tank atty is great. Relaxing at home - like today - nights, weekends, hanging out - a dripping atty would be great.

Yes, yes I know you are going to tell me to get a Reo
 :p -They are undoubtedly great. I want to start rebuilding before I get another mod.

What do you suggest? Why? Educate me please... I study all the pics you guys have posted of your gear and it all looks so awesome but I wish I knew what I was looking at...

Thanks!!

P.S. I'm now going to add some GCD to this dwindling tank of Frenilla ... must - have - GCD goodness - now

I understand everything you are mentioning because I've been there! I liked my kayfun (kayfun lite plus v2) when I was using it. My only complaint about it was that if I filled the tank and then something went wrong with my coil, when you unscrew it, it unlocks the vacuum and basically all your juice will pour out through the mouth piece. It's certainly not common that you will mess something up but there's a few times where I was either dumping a full tank or having to pour it back into something before refilling it. Otherwise, I had no complaints about the kayfun. I liked it, got decent vapor, and good flavor.

I'm not a dripper person per se so I can't recommend anything there...but of course my favorite is the reo. If you were to go in that direction, there is always one being listed on the classifieds for cheap. Or look on reos site for a blemished one. You wouldn't be able to find a blemish, I guarantee that. It's the best vape I have found thus far.

I'm in the same boat, going to branch out into the atty world and rebuildables. I'm looking at the Kayfun Lite+ clone made by Ephro, supposedly as good as authentic but it's a tank. Also looking at all the others as well, Patriot, Stillare, etc. I don't have a clue what I'm looking at and which are good and which to avoid.

Step back...this thread is about to EXPLODE!!! LOL

If you want a rebuildable tank setup Id suggest a Kayfun Lite Plus (KFL+) clone by ehpro. As far as drippers go, theres 100s of clones to chose from all for around the same price. We'll all help get you up and running in no time. Once you learn how to build coils, everything becomes less 'scary'.

Why can't girls rebuild? It seems like it would be easier with smaller hands.

I have a authentic kfl+ and really wish I would have gone for the Russian instead for exactly the reasons kinggirl mentioned.

As for getting started, go to the reo forum and watch the excellent videos there and you'll pick up everything you need. You might even talk yourself into a reo while you're at it.

That happened to me a few times when I first got one. Once I learned how to wick it properly, it stopped happening. Plus I always have them with the nano kit so if something does go wrong, theres not that much juice in it. I never fill it all the way after changing the wick either, in case the wick isnt right, once I know its wicking properly, Ill fill it up.

I got a Kayfun 3.1 and it's one of the easiest builds I've ever done. Of course my first 2 RBA's were AGA-T 2's and those are kinda quirky and hard when building dual coils and it's your first go around in building. I've heard alot of great stuff about the Kayfun lite and I may get one since I need another RBA for my mechs. I bought a Ephro Cronus mech and it is really nice and works amazingly well right out of the box. I got it from Madvapes for around $43. I do intend on buying a REO sometime in the future, that's the only mech I'm willing to dish out the dough on. I use Sony VTC 4 batteries which have worked well, they come from the same place. Some might recommend the VTC 5, they have a longer battery life. Good luck in you search!

I have two EhPro Kayfun Lite Plus V2 clones and they're great. As mentioned, the only time I've ever had an issue was due to my inexperienced wicking skills. I found the sweet spot on how much cotton to use for each diameter coil I build, so it's easy peasy now. I need to pick up another one now that I'm thinking about it.

As for drippers, I will +1 the Magma RDA. I got the clone by infinite from my local B&M for $30 and it's really good. I think I need to fine tune my coil build on it because the flavor on my first build is just meh. Not bad, but not as good as my KFL+ clones. For a dripper to produce less flavor than my KFL+, I believe it's my coil...

Of course, these are my personal recommendations as of this moment, but a REO Grand is on my birthday wish list...

The tank attys are tricky to get a good build on but there are many awesome dripping attys and since you have a provari you should be fine just stay over 1 ohm...And the Reo is as easy to build on as a dripping atty but without having to drip. I use tanks at work and use protanks (either 1 or 2) as they are fantastic when you rebuild the head and travel well. And if you have a coil or wick problem you won't lose your tank of juice to fix it. The dripping atty I love is a Castle and a close will still be pricy but not too bad. I LOVE the air control on it and the way it handles dual coils but you can run it single coil if you want (just block the other air hole with metal tape).

There are so many option now it is a bit daunting. But, we are all here to help no matter what you try!! :thumb:

I will add that I would definitely get a clone. I have an authentic one and a friend has a clone and I can't tell the difference so that should save you a ton of money since I think I paid $100 with shipping for the authentic. And with dumping juice, I wouldn't call myself an amateur lol. I used my kayfun for a good 6 months daily before getting a reo. I was just pointing out that anything can go wrong with a coil and when/if it does you have to dump it.

Thank you everyone! I'm going to order an ehpro KFL+ clone and maybe the nano tank.

Sloth, we can be new coil building buddies :) You have to show me your first build! :thumb:

I already have enough 28g kanthal and organic cotton on the way to last a lifetime (who knew that stuff was so cheap) and the provari can read ohms for me.

Based on all the great reviews this clone gets it's a good investment and an introduction to the real world of coil building.

As for the statement I made about being a girl and rebuilding - my hands are not tiny and girly, they happen to be gigantic, seriously
I said it because I don't know anything about basic principles of electricity and thought it was beyond me - I sometimes sell myself short  I'm now thinking I will really enjoy this! Getting back into the hobby aspect of vaping is a lot of fun.

You guys have brought me into 2014 - and for that, I truly thank you :toast:

Next step will be a RDA and box mod (still haven't ruled out that Reo Grand LP)

Between the new toys I want and the NT juice hoard I'm starting ... my credit cards are going to melt

For rtas I have an ehpro kayfun lite plus v2 and two "authentic" Russian 91% v2. In my little rda collection so far I have a tobh, stillaire, magma, and a trident v2.

It's a learning process and when scratching the surface it can be intimidating. But in all reality it's super easy once you learn the basics. As long as you do your research, and obtain the proper tools, you'll be building coils in no time. Building on a rta can be a little tricky at first, because there's little room for error with the wicking. It's trial and error, but doesn't take more than a mistake or two to figure it out for most people.

I personally like the Russian 91% v2 over the Kayfun lite plus v2 for one reason, more airflow. You can adjust both of them via a screw, but the Russians have more airflow than the kayfun when opened up. I would suggest having a syringe on hand for when you need to take it apart to make an adjustment, ie rewicking, you can save your juice by sucking it out of the fill hole. I've learned a few tricks along the way and when you're ready to start building I'd be more than happy to help. I'll even Skype with you and can watch me do a build if you wish. I'm all about sharing the knowledge and helping where I can.

As far as drippers go I would highly recommend the Magma. It's my favorite. You're not going to be blowing competition sized clouds, but it is a flavor junkie's dream. It has air channels that come in from the bottom, channel up and come out underneath the coil, just like a kayfun style rba. Super deep juice wells, I haven't counted, but a reviewer was saying that he could drip around 40 drops of 50/50 into it. It can be ran in dual or single coil mode.

Good luck! If you need anything that I can help with shoot me a pm.
