I've spent a lot of time doing research here before I registered and even more afterwards and I think I have a lot more clarity about e cigs now thanks to the members here.

I don't know if I'm ready to really formulate coherent questions about the vaping set-up that will be best for me as a newbie but when I do, I know the members here will fall all over themselves giving me the best possible advice.

Thanks in advance! ;)

Welcome to the ECF Ginger, so much info on here. Cool community too. :2cool:

I'm really enjoying all the content here. I'll think of a question and do a search and sure enough - it's come up in one way or another. The posters also seem really friendly which is something that can be missing on the few 'quit smoking' boards I've looked at.

Welcome to ECF. You’ve found the best place in existence for help. You'll get lots of advice here, mostly good and 99.9% of it well intentioned. But beware of nOObs who just bought their first PV proclaiming that what they just bought is the best thing out there. They are rightfully and understandably excited. vaping is saving our lives. But pay more attention to the vets who have been doing this a while and have used and compared lots of equipment. My $.02

I think I've already let go of the "fake" cig look, so that's good. I think I've also been forced by this forum to really think about my own smoking habits and potential future. You can tell by my username that I'm looking to use vaping to go to zero nic. I may just use vaping to get to a non-user status or I may keep the hand/mouth habit. I don't know yet.

I do know that at least 18 people on this forum probably did exactly what I want to do and probably have a lot of insight into the pitfalls.

Welcome to ECF! Don't let this group fool ya when they start talking about dripping a carto attached to a mod with a tea bag set up, bottom feeding from a VV :) somehow they know exactly what they're speaking of.....We just need to be vaping what they're vaping and it will become crystal clear...LOL

Seriously though, you'll find excellent advice and it will make sense, despite the acronyms :)

LOL! I actually work in a very technical field but all this stuff makes me feel like the first day of Organic Chem. I think if I can get a little mentoring before I make my first purchase, I'll be fine.

Do some research, and make the plunge. You won't know what you like until you try some thing out; juices, mods, etc... But beware, it can be addictive. At least for me, I have grown to have a nice vaping collection :)

No! I have enough expensive, finicky hobbies! I'm hoping to put together a set-up that is not a new, challenging obsession. :p

I hope you have better luck with that than I did! I told myself my eGo-T would be all I ever needed for my vaping pleasure...UNTIL I learned about the bottom feeder Reo mods. Bottom feeders? No more filling a 1ml cartridge? Two weeks after I bought my eGo-T I had a Reo mini. Then a Reo Grand so the juice would last longer. Then a Reo Woodvil just because it was so pretty. Then came the Variable Volt mods. I could up my voltage and have the juice taste better and warmer? REALLY? Then I picked up my inexpensive Lava Tube. Then I hear about this new hybrid mod that requires NO tank, NO carto, NO atomizer? The entire system is integrated into this gorgeous stainless steel mod...tank, atty and battery all-in-one...that requires nothing more than filling the juice tank and changing the battery for a month?! After that, you just change the SS wick and wrap a new coil! EASY stuff! I have to try that. :) I hope it's my last mod, but I won't hold my breath!

This is just another addiction, but a fun one and healthier than smoking!

I both sew and knit. If you think that story makes me blink, think again. You're talking to someone who now uses sergers and sewing machines that essentially require a degree to operate. I do not want to discuss the merits of space-dyed, hand-spun, lace weight, heirloom breed, 100% American raised wool.

You see why I don't want a new hobby. :D

Just think of it . . . no more ashtrays sitting on the edge of your cutting table, vibrating on the edge of the machine table, or wondering which pattern piece is covering up your lighter! You might think about getting a lanyard though AND you'll still have to take the pins out of your mouth to take a relaxing drag!

WELCOME!!

LOL! My smoking habit has never invaded my sewing room. My soon-to-be vaping habit might, though.
