Just a short note to thank all of my "army" buddies for the outpouring of understanding and support regarding the loss of my fur-friend Tiny.

I have read each and every post -- the heart-felt condolences, the loving and, sometimes, heart-wrenching stories of your own fur-friends. You have each touched my heart.

You have all made a huge difference in someone's life today. Thanks so very, very much for that.

I am honored to be part of this amazing cyber-family and giant

Oh Pokey - I didn't know either! I am so sorry!

We had quite a scare with our Sam the day after Christmas - had to take him to vet ER and I sat up with him all night trying to get Gatorade in him so he wouldn't dehydrate.

A lot of prayers were answered and I am so lucky that he is much better now, but I can imagine how you must feel - our fur babies are just like family and we love them so much.

Hang in there and let me know if I can help in any way girlfriend!

Our fur babies are (to me) God's way of showing us unconditional love. I'm coming up on a difficult anniversary myself...Feb5th will be the 9th anniversary of losing my Mom to breast cancer, and the 1st anniversary of losing my fur baby Shih-Tzu.

Abby had a seizure one night and I took her to the animal ER. She was dx'd with a rare form of malignant tumor in her upper sinus cavity putting pressure on her brain. Three weeks later she was gone.

Pokey, you are family here, when one hurts we all feel it...when one is happy we all rejoice.

Hey, we all get it Pokey. None of us are alone.
In my book, anybody that cares about other living things has got something right going on upstairs.

Couldn't agree with you more, Mist!

I agree with Mist,Pokey I didnt know you lost your fur baby.Im really sorry and I hope your OK.There are alot of people here who care!!We luv ya!!I hope your OK.

Keyz, I was kinda low-profile on sharing that it had happened. It just slipped out :) I'm OK, but even more so from reading everyone's comforting words. Thanks!

They are family, without a doubt. Just like all of the good people here! I am so glad that everything has gotten better for Sam, that was a horrible night, I am sure. I had a few of those nights in the past with my two, old dogs. That was a rough time, but I wouldn't be anywhere else under the circumstances. I hope he has continued to improve and to feel better...

Pokey, were all in this together. That's what makes this such a special place and you are one of the people that make it special.

5Card, so simply and eloquently put. Thanks for being such a great person. And this IS a special place, no doubt. I've never found another like it. Hmmmm...not even in "real" life, I'm pretty sure. Simply amazing people here, really.

Great friends are to be had here. Don't hesitate to post about your fur friends. Many of us understand.

No more hesitating, FranC, I promise! :)

BIG HUGS Pokey, Don't worry, Tiny is busy trying to figure out why this big pit bull is slobbering all over him...They're laying down right now because they were just playin chase.:p
Love ya Pokey...

Now, I am laughing. It is the silliest sight in my mind -- Tiny (aka Whiny Tiny and/or FatCat) and a big pit bull, such an unlikely friendship but one that I'm sure will endure. They both must know how we are feeling and are glad that we've been able to lift that sorrow by sharing our hurt with each other. It feels good to smile when I think of them together, thanks K5. Love ya back...

Yes, unconditional love. A very special gift.

Bov, I know these days leading to the anniversary of you losing your mom and Abby must be difficult for you. I can't imagine how hard the day itself must be. You are part of my family, here, and please know that, even though I'm not always good with putting it into words, I hurt for you. Both are tragic losses and I am sure the pain remains fresh. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and try to send you strength through our friendship, here. I read your post a little earlier today and have been trying to think of what to say. But you've already said it, "when one hurts we all feel it...when one is happy we all rejoice." I hurt for your losses and, maybe, that can help lessen it's sting just a little.

Lol, I tell ya Pokey, this has truly been the first few times i have smiled instead of frowned when i think about T(Tego). Now I think of them as a pair. Thats so cool. I need a pic of Tiny if possible. I have plenty of T if you'd like to see Tiny's new bud...

I would love to see Tego and I will post a few pics of Tiny, as well!

Give me a little time, though, and I'll have them for you. There is one of him as a kitten that I want to include, but I've got to search through my external hard drive to find it.

I'm so glad that you've found your smile when thinking of T. I'm sure he and Tiny are both smiling at us, too, knowing that we're finding our way to being OK and now that they've got each other. :)

Bov I don't think you hijacked the thread...Now this is a hijack lol.

Pic of Tego at 6mo...With his kamecheewaa That's the random name we gave the toy. He was seriously the most trainable dog I have ever come across. And pits are notorious stubborn mules. But Tego knew all his toys by name, and would look for them until he found them. He could learn commands on the second try, if not the first...look at those soulful eyes he has:).

This is him with his binky(kong)at 1yr9mo...He did not take a breath without one in his mouth. It was so cute, it looked like a baby binky in his mouth. He would place it in or next to his food/water bowl when he ate or drank. He would poop/pee, he did everything with the binky in his mouth. He destroyed several kamecheewaas, So he decided he liked the binky more. He would bump into too many things with the kamecheewaa in his mouth. He couldn't see past that big ball .
