About a month ago, I asked for how-to help for an RTA. This was all new to me.
Today I took the plunge. I received my UD Bellus RTA yesterday from fasttech. At $7.33, I figured I couldn't go wrong. It only took a little over a month to get here. But, it did arrive.
I've been building practice coils for a couple of weeks so I could get the hang of it. I went through a lot of wire.
Finally, today I got serious.
I used 27 AWG Kanthal wire and was going for a 1.6 ohm build. I came in at 1.44 ohm. Close enough.
I wicked the coil using Cotton Bacon Prime. I checked a few YouTube videos to make sure I was doing it right.
Coil installed and wicked and I put the tank back together.
Now, for the moment of truth.
Fired the tank up on my old faithful mech mod. It was making all the right sounds. Time for a puff.
Well, I did it. Taste is a little different from my Aspire Nautilus setup, but not bad. In fact, pretty good.
Thanks to all of you for the help. I learned a lot and I learned how to do things safely. I'm sure I'll get better at this as time goes along.
Not sure if I will stay with an RTA. But I do have one handy in case the bottom falls out with the FDA.
Again, thanks all.
