Yes, he was exposed to agent orange, he was a helicopter gunner for close to 2 years. He finally applied for disability 2 months ago, said before that he didn't want to take advantage of the system. (I convinced him to go in to the VA, took me 3 years but he finally went. He knows he qualify s, he's just waiting for the % of disability, etc. Should know in the next week or 2) He's also a 2 pack a day smoker, passes out from coughing, pneumonia all the time or bronchitis. He definitely needs to quit, if anyone does. He was in a car accident 3 months ago, passed out from coughing. They found lung nodules and kidney lesions, he's awaiting his test results now from last Tues. to see if these changed. Poor health for a 60 year old anyway. It sure as heck doesn't pay to get old, those in my age group (and older) understand. I hear often about "the golden years" not being so golden. Kudo's to your hubby and all that served. I feel sorry for the nam vets, they were not thanked, and returned home with no acknowledgment. I feel the soldiers now rec. the welcome they deserve, just wish the nam vets would have as well.
