Thanksgiving story contest ends 11/23/13

Then he heard it! Fee Fi Foe GOBBLE!!!

As Gregory climbed closer he saw the turkey, but it was just one of the plain wild turkeys who was polishing his BB gun. He and the rabbit climbed quietly past the cackling turkey and continued on their quest.......

After traveling for several hours gregory was pooped. He desperately needed a break. So he plopped down under the nearest shade tree to rest for a spell.

But it wasn't a shade tree at all... it was one of the giants hairy toes!! And when the giant stomped his foot to try and squash this little human who dared to enter his domain, the whole kingdom in the clouds shook!!

It was then that Gregory noticed that one of the giants toes was red and swollen from a splinter that had probably been there for quite a while. Fearing for his life, he decided to to try and make a deal with the giant.

Gathering up all of his courage, he spoke to the giant... offering to help get the splinter out of his foot, if he would help him on his quest to find his daughter.

The giant answered him back in a loud, booming voice:

OH YOU WILL WILL YOU. HOW WILL A LITTLE THING LIKE YOU GET THE PAIN AWAY FROM ONE SUCH AS ME?

Grabbing the rabbit by his ears again, Gregory said to him: It's about time you make yourself useful around here!!

He pulled down on the rabbits jaw... and clenched his big buck teeth around the end of the splinter like a pair of pliers. Pulling with all of his might, Gregory managed to remove the splinter (which was the size of his arm) and collapsed on the ground exhausted from the ordeal.



(I was gonna have him use the tweezers in a Swiss Army knife, but I thought they would be too small... )

 

[Amraann]

In relief the giant began to cry...............

 

[Debra_oh]

Gregory swatted the giants sore toe to get his attention "get a grip there Mr Giant, your tears are drowning us down here. You promised to help me find my daughter and now would be a good time" .....

 

[HandbananA]

A deal is a deal. The giant helped them up on to his shoulders and away they went. Gregory was amazed by how much ground they were covering, surely they would be there in no time he thought.

But he thought wrong as soon they came upon a ....................

 

[Debra_oh]

Female giant. The two giants made strange gurgling sounds to each other and Gregory knew that this would not come to a good end for him. To get the giant back on task he.....................

Reminded the giant once again of they're deal. That's when all fairy tale hell broke loose...

The female giant reached for Gregory and the rabbit.........................

But the giant just pushed her aside and continued his climb up the beanstalk. Gregory thanked him for honoring his agreement and asked where they were climbing to. The giant just grunted "you will know"

 

[Amraann]

The female giant regained her footing and started to follow them up the bean stalk while making very angry noises.......

"Looks like we gotta hurry giant!" Yelled Gregory. The giant said "we?? We don't gotta hurry. YOU do." He threw Gregory up up up as hard as ge could. Gregory and the rabbit went flying up into sky til they reached land! It was a city in the clouds and they just got thrown there by a giant!

Gregory took one look around the floating city and sat down in utter frustration. The Rabbit rushed over to him and Gregory said "sit down, whats the point, we will never find a golden turkey in a city this size, i give up" At that moment a piece of paper floated down and Gregory grabbed it. He read it, then excitedly read it again, he handed it to the rabbit who read it aloud as Gregory got up.....

Then the rabbit read on..
"Map to golden Turkey's house"

Could this be real? Asked the hare. "Why not? Everything else is so damn topsy turvy in this place...why should this be any different! ?"....

So they began their journey trying to decipher the map along the way.............

They decided to stop at a nearby Inn to have something to eat, and ask for directions...
