I've got a carto in a dctank that needed changing. It was beginning to get that stale, straw taste. Problem is.. I had just filled the tank hoping to remedy the problem (OK.. it does work sometimes) so I decided rather than push the batt end in and use a syringe to suck out the juice.. I decide to do a hot swap. I've done it a couple times before, pretty neat.. anyway, the new carto was punched pretty forcefully, meaning the round shape was a bit warped... didn't think it was THAT warped 
so when I connected the cartos and pushed the new one in.. it stuck, it wouldn't go in! Needless to say after a bit a pushing and tugging the end cap ended up popping off and I spilled a whole tank of juice every where LOL The new, warped carto still works in the tank but it won't be hot swapable next time I need to replace it.
