I was gonna pick up some blue foam today, but the pet store was closed and Wal-Mart doesn't carry it. I picked up a scotch-brite pad at Wal Mart, but it's very dense, leaks, and gives a weird taste to the vapor. Better luck tomorrow, I hope.

Can anyone tell me if this works on an 801 or 4072 cart? I just ordered some and was wondering.
Some of those Scotch Brite pads have chemicals in them. Be careful. Somewhere on one of Kristin's posts she discuss which pads to use if you go that route. Hopefully you can find the blue foam cuz I know you'll be happy!

Thank you. My straw was too long. And my foam was too wide. I learned the hard way that the foam when folded is very squirmy.
I did notice that however that the cart is only 28mm deep (it could be that I just have some freak carts) so a 36mm of foam is a bit overkill but when trimmed it does leave a nice little tip to the dart.

OK, so I realize that I just started this and I have read through a lot of the cartridge mods and I just don't get it. I'm new to this, so bear with me. My e-cig is in three pieces, battery, atomizer and cart. If I drip liquid in the cartridge first won't it pass through the small hole I suck through? I'm really feeling foolish here, so........
The unit I have (V5 with J109 on the battery) has pre-filled cartridges which show a foil cap which gets punctured when you push it on by the "bridge" of the atomizer. What's keeping it from draining through the mouth piece hole? Then again, they all came pretty dried out, so perhaps that explains something! I did put some liquid drops in the mouth piece and one on the atomizer and the whole thing worked (yeah!), but the first time I got a mouthful of juice. To be honest, the second time as well, until I started limiting the drops to two or three!
When using the straw, does it go in the cart. first or does it go in so as to be close to the atomizer?
Any help would be appreciated, I'm slowly getting the hang of navigating the forum, but it seems (so far) that each question that gets answered raises two more I need to research. BTW, how do you get the summaries of how many days vaping, cigs not smoked and $ saved?

Thanks. I'll start cutting the straws and foam. By the way where did you find 3.5mm straws? I have a sh** load of 2mm but no 3.5.
I'm not sure but I believe that the model you have is the same as Smoking Everywhere's model. If that's the case I have no idea how this mod would apply to it. I'm just not familiar with it. Sorry, but maybe someone else knows this model better.

How exactly is it not performing for you? Is it emptying the cart? I've never seen regular filling actually vape until dry so I'm assuming that that is the case?
I just got some foam at the pet store. All they had was white foam, but it seems to be working great so far. I'll vape this for a while and see. So far, I'm a happy vaper The measurements are perfect too, by the way.

i realized the difference today. i noticed while at school today that i only had to refill once and i did it without a toothpick.
plus i had an atty die on me so maybe it was in its death throughs and making my vaping not as great while i was testing out the BFD
This is the only cart mod I've ever tried that never produces leaks, flooding, or juice-in-the-mouth syndrome. Thanks Pete!! I actually like my 510 again.
quick question: how often do yall wash/replace these?
with the default filler i would wash it every time i changed flavors (1-2 days) but now with the darts i have been using them for a week or so have just been using 2 darts over and over. do i need to wash these every few days like with the default?

Actually, I wash them out every day. Just takes a couple of seconds and dabbing them on a paper towel dries them out right away. If you don't wash them I find that they get compressed and don't work as well. Once washed, they spring right back to life.
Capri Sun straws work great! Plus they're clear so you can see what you're doing
