Hello,
I was wondering if anybody ever tried using fiberglass, kind of cotton like material in furnace filters for example, as cart filler?
I've been following many mod threads and understand the concept of what we need. The blue foam mod, I just tried today in conjuction with a straw mod (vertical straw to keep a small plug of blue foam up in position). In works quite well, although I still go through a cart filled with about 12 drops in about 1/2 hour... Yep.. need some mega carts.. but anyhow.
So blue foam I lucked out and found these polyurathane foam sponges at the dollar store. Sounds about the same as the fish foam material. But ofcourse there is some discussion on risks of polyurathane degradation and nasty chemicals being produced... The idea on the brass pipe screens, or better stainless steel sounds promising.
But was thinking fiberglass might be good... Glass doesn't burn, and you need very high temperatures to melt it. If a pure glass fiberglass cotton was used it sounds like it could work.
Anybody try that? Thanks.
