What is the best 18650 battery to use in a regulated mod? Or one 18650 or two 18350's?
People around here seem to like the authentic Sony batteries, but I'm a newbie, so I'm not speaking from personal experience :)

Definitely one 18650. Stacking Li batteries is a no-no.

I've been using Efest purple 35A batteries and they seem to work great and stay cool even with sub-ohm builds in my RDAs.
EFEST
Just an FYI.

If your batteries are the purple Efest 18650 2500mAh 35A batteries -- they are not 35A continuous. They are really rebranded LG18650HE2 2500mAh 20 amp continuous batteries.

Here is another warning that was posted on ECF regarding another purple Efest battery: Efest 3100mAh battery caution

Just my standard FYI battery post! How to Spot Fake Sony Batteries

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are a few reputable battery suppliers in the US.
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics
* RTD Vapor

Got my new Cloupor T5 it takes one 18650. Book suggests Panasonic but I don't know much about batteries. Thanks for the quick replies
Panasonics are listed in Baditude's blog. Be sure to check the model number, because they're all over the place on Amp ratings. Higher amperage is better.

Which model of Panasonic batteries? Dopes the book say if flat top or button top are required? Does it give you a minimum amp rating required from the battery?

Just a FYI for everyone asking. This is word for word what the book says.

BATTERY NOT INCLUDED (lol) : Recommended 18650 batteries : AW IMR, Panasonic CGR, SONY VTC4 past that everything I read and depending on what I read each says "I am the best" but Bob just said he was the best, no.. Fact of the matter is it sounds like there are too many "bests" out there so I am going to just have to take an educated guess and pick one and try my luck.

As msgnyc said, there is no "best" battery. It depends upon your mod and your applications.

Always use a single battery, never stack.

Always use an IMR or IMR/hybrid battery; ICR li-ion batteries are obsolete for mods.

What juice delivery devices will you be running on your mechanical mod? At what resistances (ohms)? This will determine what amp limits you will need in a battery.

What about LG batteries? I do not know the actual model number of them, but they are 18650 2500 mAh 3.7V with a reddish wrapping.
What about them? The LG18650HE2 2500mah has a 20 amp continuous rating. It's a very good battery if it meets your application requirements.

What is your setup and at what resistance are your coils?

Sony vtc5 hands down
Only if you are doing sub-ohm coils in a rebuildable. 30 amps are overkill if you don't need them. "Only" 2600 mAh.

If you are using factory made coils (1.5 ohm - 3.0 ohm), there are a few batteries with just 10 amps but with more mAh capacity which would be a better battery for that application. More mAh = longer lasting battery.

Panasonic and Orbtronic

NCR18650PF 2900mAh 10A
NCR18650PD 2900mAh 10A
