Just posting here so I can find the thread again. Methinks a BBox will be my birfday present to myself come February

Hmmm... might have to contact 'em, and see if they'll send me a raw box once I get my polishing equipment up again. A bright polished BBox might be... interesting...

I agree.........

I can keep mine shiny, but the scratches are still scratches. And that raw aluminum likes to be scratched almost as much as my back does, or so it appears.

Tried it. Tried EVERYTHING. I still see scratches clearly.

It looks to me like it's either sand it down or live with the scratches.

I know others have said it works for them so maybe it's just me.

You might just have actual scratches. Mine just gets marks from going in and out of my pocket, and rubbing against my cell phone on one side. They all buff out easily.

Yeah, Bamrz. They're scratches. In bunches.

You should see my Hana. It's now permanently wrapped (as is my raw BB).

I'm fine with it but I don't think I'd like a fully raw one.

If I had one I would put some kind of a clear gloss coating on it to keep down the scratches. They have some very hard clear coatings these days.

Gotta go, it's that time.....time to Lynch some folk.
Wow I thought I missed the game but it isn't until 5:30

Clearcoat over a raw metal doesn't work in the long term. you WILL get oxidation under the clearcoat

For scratches, there's not much you can do except repolish (dry 320 grit, wet 320, sizel buff, soft cloth buff). Did this stuff from early teens to mid 30s

Also thinking about replacing the CF panels with other things. Have ideas...

I'm talking epoxy or one of them new space age coatings. I would never use paint as it doesn't adhere well to shiny surfaces of any kind.
