So, I ordered my Buzz yesterday, but I may have made a mistake. Having only used 808's, I ordered the 808 Buzz to work with my stockpile of cartos. However, I'd really like to try dripping. I really think I'd prefer it when it's convenient. Am I going to be able to find an 808->? adapter to a "drippable" atomizer? Should I have ordered, or try to change my order, to another Buzz and use a ?->808 adapter? Thanks in advance. This thread sold me on the Buzz.

Your '808 fitting' is really just a 901 tip with a notch in it, if I'm following this correctly. As such, you should not have a problem using either a 901 directly on it, or with any other atomizer via an appropriate adapter. If you're concerned about the additional airflow that the notches will introduce, it should not be an issue at all. I believe that you can even cancel out the additional airflow from the notches by covering them with an o-ring if you want.

In short, you should be just fine.

Here's another potentially helpful note to people trying to 'match' the output of your Buzz to another mod you've grown used to:

Remember to consider the ohms of the atty your using as it related to the stated voltage of your other mod. For example, I was trying to match the output of my Prodigy V1 and V2 by dialing in at around 5.1 - 5.3 volts on my Buzz, and not getting the same results. After much tinkering, I finally realized that the Prodigy units have been tested under load with a 901 atomizer at 5.2 - 5.3 volts. A 901 atty runs at almost 3.4 ohms. So, the actual voltage I was getting on my Prodigy units is probably more like 5.6 - 5.7 volts with the 510 cartomizers that I've grown so used to, as they run at about 2.8 - 3 ohms.

How did I discover this? The Buzz taught me. Then, after lots of head bashing, my logic and math finally caught up. ;-)

That's excellent news. It's almost as good as the email saying my Buzz has shipped. 901 attis should be in the mail tomorrow. Next week will be Christmas in July.

Guys the best way to think of this is in POWER or Watts !
Use this calculator to find your POWER Ohm's Law Calculator

Just put in the voltage ( or your best guess ) and the resistance of the atomizer , you will get back the POWER and current draw.

We have found that 6-8 Watts is the sweet spot , for some it might be 7.25 watts OR it might be different for different Juices !

anyhow IF you think in POWER it will be really easy to know where you want it set.

Dual 3.7 volt batts will load down from 7.4v to about 6.5 volts or 15 % drop.
Dual 3.0 volt batts will load down from 6 volts to about 5.2 volts
( this varies depending on the state of charge ! )

:D

The Beauty of regulated devices is the YOU KNOW what the voltage is !! and with variable control you can set it EXACTLY every time.

So I got my buzz today, and decided to go ahead and do some reverse-engineering on it to really see how this thing ticks. Really not that hard to pull apart (though not recommended as it will void the warranty! Dont do it!).

The circuit board is pretty ingenious. Everything is in a nice little package. There are no worries of failure with this many failsafes! Quite the piece of work.

Unfortunately, there is an issue with patents. Upon close inspection, I was confused as there are several of the circuits that just don't make sense in the overall design. So I pulled these odd components off the circuit board and ran then under my stereoscopic microscope.. only to find...

And now we know why the Buzz works as well as it does. Mike is using time travel to transport vapor from the future straight to the mouthpiece! There really is no voltage regulation at all! He brings vapor from the future, mixes it with vapor from the present, and the feeling is that you get better, stronger, flavor!

Sorry to bust your secret wide open like this, but time travel is a dangerous game my friend, and the public needs to know.

Ditzy redhead question... On the Buzz is there still a drop in voltage from unloaded to loaded? Or does the regulated voltage adjust for that so if you set it at 4.5 volts it is still 4.5 volts even under load?

And  mixitman!

Mike I got the new top with the hole in it today and will be changing it out later and start testing it. Thanks!!

LMAO !! Nice
No secrets If somebody wants to copy it they will void the warranty , I'm sure this is already happening !!! :vapor::vapor:

Witchway the regulator keeps the voltage where you set it LOADED or UNLOADED ! it will be that voltage +/- 2%

Let us know how the 808 connection works , DId I send you an O-ring ??? Ya I did . OK for an atomizer use the O-ring on the connector this should seal the slots.

Thank you that's what I thought but wasn't sure.

I got the top with a hole in it, no slots, but yes you sent the o-ring and it should work the same way. I'm going to try it with and without the o-ring and against hubby's Buzz with the regular top on it. See I knew having two Buzzes in the family would come in handy. Hubby just doesn't realize I'm going to be stealing his Buzz for a while so I can test back and forth

Can you use 808 cartos on that A FLUX CAPACITOR? :D

Salt you can change it ! just e-mail me ASAP

The linked one IS what I have , the problem is computer screens and colors never look the same ! in real life .

Just signed in and caught up. I already got a shipping notice though. That's Ok. I'll just have to get the green one next time. :D

Awww Salt I'm sorry I had to leave when I did. I got hubby the green one and it's like the assembled one. He loves the color.

thanks for the heads-up WitchWay, but I was already asleep. Early to bed, early to rise.
I kinda wish I had ordered the green one. I sat there staring at my cart with my CC in hand for like 2 hours before I could hit the checkout button. I thought the green would look great, but I knew I'd like black, so I defaulted.

Not a problem. If anything I should be thanking you for getting my order out so promptly. So... Thanks!

It's my Birthday on the 7th, that's why I was a little less than patient. This is my present to myself this year! I just wanted to make sure it gets here in time...

Thanks for all your hard work on this thing BuzzKill!
I have been a vaper for over a year now, and had yet to be moved buy any of the other battery MODs on the market. This truly is the first one that tickled my fancy. I am very excited, and grateful. Keep up the hard work.
