OK frist off let me say, Im New to this and have never tried an ecig, but I am very sick of smoking and want to Quit.I been smoking a pack a day for 13 years.
I just heard of e-cig from my 60 yr old mother last week,Which is odd she's been smoking for 30+ years
I had a few questions or ideas and wanted to know if any of you guys think it will work.

I thinking about ordering a 510 disposable Then taking the old battery connecter and making a battery mod or a usb passthough.
I guess the 1 atomizer (battery connecter),usb charger and 3 carts is worth 8 bucks
if there is not any diffrence in these atomizers and connecters then in the real kit???

Boge Disposable Q-510 e-cigarette, Red LED, Marl 24 Mg Boge Disposable e-cigarette, Red LED [] - $7.99 : Great Ecig Deals, Quality, low priced electronic cigarettes

then I saw this but out of stock bumber (I want to quit smoking this week)

510 E-Cigarette

I cant find a deal even close to this anywhere else! Even the china wholesale sites that take to month to ship you something want 30 bucks for it.

so one more thing before i read much about ecig I order this,I was going to cancel my order then i seen the prices for a this same car charger on most us sites is $8 so if one item works out of the 10 its worth it. I know with out mods this kit will not last long.I'm very good with a hot iron so no biggy to me, pLus i have 10 battery boxes and 7 types of rechargabe batterys a tool box full of switches leds ect, before I ever knew about ecigs.

Mod Kits Here's a link to a build it yourself kit from Mad Vapes that costs $8.00. You could at least take a look at it...you may already have some of the parts, but for $8 you can't lose. I think using the parts from a disposable might be risky because they are meant to go belly-up early on. Check out this kit for a box mod for $8. If I could solder, that's what I'd be looking at.

Good luck....whatever you end up with will be better than cigs. Period.

I started with a single atty and some test leads taped the cells together and taped the wires to the ends of them crock cliped the outside of the atty and touched a test probe to the centre contact. That is cheap. The kit will give you an intro a a super low price. If you are not skint give it a go but to be honest you sound like a trip to the modders forum and you would have all the mental food needed to start of vaping on your own mod. Use your knowlege and craft skills it is not that hard to build a simple mod.

Liberty Flights sells Riva SE kits...they have a 20% off sale going, so the kit is only $35...plus they sell cartos & atomizers & juice too.

Bloog Planet sells a very nice model called the MaxxFusion, which is a KR808D-1.

Clouds of Vapor sells the Wetbox, which is an inexpensive box mod.

You have lots of choices...see the supplier section here on ECF!

Hi vandale,
I agree totally with the doing this the cheapest way possible, but, quitting smoking is hard to do so be sure you have good enough equipment to help eliminate down time. :2cool: Also extra equipment in case of breakdowns. It is hard enough to quit the first time and I know from experience that it is real aggravating to have to go back to smoking because of equipment failure, just to have to start all over. Also make sure you have enough juice so you don't run out. This isn't like smoking where you just run to the nearest gas station to get another pack. Things have to be ordered and waiting with nothing to vape with usually leads to going back to smoking and starting over again.:(
I have one of the box mods from Mad Vapes that they are talking about and its the only pv I use now.:vapor: For $8 you get a mod that will do anything the more expensive ones will do. Make sure you get extra batteries and an extra charger. :2cool:
Good luck.:vapor:

If you think about it. A PAD smoker spends about $165 a month. That's average $5.50 a pack for 30 days. You could try all these cheap ways to get started but you might end up with a less than satisfactory experience. OR. You could get an eGo tank starter kit for $80 from cignot.com with free shipping. AND the $30 DIY starter kit from Onestopdiyshop.com. That would give you enough juice for about a month with a couple different flavors you can mix and match, and you are only in it for $110. So you would actually be SAVING money AND have a kit that works well, AND be able to adjust the nicotine level to what works for you.

Just my .02

Usually when people try to take the cheap way out with anything, it ends up costing more in the long run.

Just an FYI, the box mod kit costs $8, but by the time you add batteries, a couple of attys, carts or drip tip, a charger, and some juice you're up to around $50.

Don't get me wrong. I love the box mod and get a lot of friends started on vaping with them, but it's not the cheapest intro to ecigs.

madvapes carries and auto 808 "mini" set i guess u can call it, its one cartomizer, one battery and a charger for $10 (i got one with my last juice order for my mother, she's still using it after like 2 weeks so i guesss its an ok unit), throw in 50ml of their cuban cigar for 10.99, ur in less than $25 and u can move on from there, buying a mod or watever with the money you save on analogs

Just my 2 cents: KEEP IT SIMPLE--especially starting out

If I knew what I know now, this is what I would do to start my venture into the ecig world; and it is something I have recommended to several people who were considering ecig's that were very satisfied with this set-up for a relatively cheap price.

1) Ego passthru battery: enables you to charge battery, use as a passthru, and something you can use on the run with decent vape time at 650mah.

2) Joye eGo-T atomizer: these really work well, especially version 2, which most vendors are selling--unlike what I have found at Totally Wicked.

3) Joy eGo-T tanks: these are used to put your e-juice in and slide into the atomizer. there are many videos around demonstrating this--Totally Wicked is one that has the demonstration.

4) E-Juice: While there are many great vendors around, most would agree Backwoodsbrew.net sells premium e-juice and has a wide variety of flavors at a competitive price.

For the hardware, I would suggest Cignot.com. Again, there are many reputable dealers and I recommend you look around, but there are many on ECF who will vouch for the service and prices these ladies provide.

Ego usb passthru battery: $22.00
Joye eGo-T atomizer $16.00
Joye eGo-t Tanks (pack of 5) $7.00
Shipping $5.00
Total: $50.00

E-Juice: Backwoodsbrew: $16.50 30ml
plus $3.00 shipping

These suggestions are not meant as a end-all, but will allow to get a decent experience in the vaping world for under $70.
You can go cheaper, but a lot of the cheaper stuff will not do it when you are trying to get off analogs IMO.

Good Luck,

I understand your reasoning for trying to get into this a cheaply as you can....so perhaps
a disposable for a "trial run" may be a starting point. If that works, it appears that your
DIY mod thing that you have suggested may not be the best 2nd step for you.
If quitting smoking is your goal, then perhaps a $40.00 investment to start out with
should be something you should highly consider. After all, you find the money for
buying cigs at the present.
Then...if you so desire...tinker around with some type of mod.
But to tinker around for your first unit appears
to be where the saying " Nothing good-ever comes cheap" may apply, especially with
your lack of knowledge on the workings of these units at this point.
So buying a $40 good PV unit and some basic juice, you
have probably already cut your smoking habit cost by well over 50% just in the first
month alone.

If you want to save money.....DIY the juice. That's where the real savings are.

The best of luck to you and glad to have you here.
