I think what people were saying was that it has the same guts as the lavatube/knight rider, just with a bright plastic-y coating.

Then why even bother? 20 bucks more gets you a MUCH better looking piece of equipment.Im scared tacky looking mods like that are gonna turn people off from ever trying an e-cig.

According to the copycasta of Beaver:

2. Regulated output which keeps the voltage the same with each puff - regardless of your remaining battery power. As the battery drains, the device will keep the voltage consistent.

Isn't voltage drop-off a big problem with the Lavatube?

If I didn't already have a lavatube, this would be great. As it is, having read this thread (thanks to Beaver for posting the specs) I'm pretty sold on replacing my LT with a vmax, although I'd still like to see a review first. Still, I like the idea of it for a backup, maybe for camping or work.
Also, I can't say I've had voltage dropoff with my LT, at least, not in the way an unregulated battery drops off as you vape. I don't notice any change until it hits about 3.6v or less charge remaining. That said, don't have any way to meter it.

Yes, voltage drop-off is a huge problem with the LT, at least for me. When you say you don't see a change until it hits 3.6v, that's a problem. The damn thing only starts at 4.1 or 4.2 volts. I'd love to have it hit the same way until 3.2v but that's not the case at all. Not even close. Lately mine has taken to giving me the low battery flash at 3.6v, I don't know if it's the tube itself or the batteries I'm using, because they're in pretty horrid condition.

The batteries it comes with are crap. If those are the ones you're using, there's your answer. They come off the charger at a piddly 4.0v and have a power curve that looks like erectile dysfunction. AW IMRs do improve things significantly though.

Fair. It takes me about a day to hit 3.6 though, and it doesn't get unsatisfying until 3.4. I kill my ego batteries in the time it takes to start hitting that dropoff, so again, it's not too big a worry for me. I'll leave the house with it if it's at 3.8 or over, go to work, and might just start hitting that drop off when I'm getting home.

This has been a mighty entertaining thread... I think if you're roughing it with the Cloud Stick you need a phone to match (it comes in yellow, orange and black):

Yeah, I'm using the ones that came with it (it was from Capital Nic Fit, won it in a FB contest), they're blue. Haven't been able to afford some new ones yet. As soon as is possible, I'm getting new ones for it.

Looks like this phone's design was inspired by the Sony Sports Walkman of the 80's -
