Greetings all!

I won't bore you with my story as it's all somewhere on the EFC Board. I have been fascinated with the idea of bottom feeders for several months and have spent hours looking at all the options. I had convince my self to grab a cheapie and try it out but.....after seeing so many posts a about Rob's great mods, I decided to place my order for a new Reo's LP Grand in Copper Grain and a Reomizer 2 and new brass button.

I had smoked cigars and pipes for nearly 60 years and was able to leave them behind for vaping. I learned to build and mix, so it seems that the bottom feeder is a move in the right direction. To help me quit over a year ago, I vaped at 24 mgs for the first year. No that I have it in control, I have dropped it to.......24mgs. Well....it works for me.

Am looking forward to joining your Reo family.

Dickie "The Cranky Squonker"

Welcome, Dickie!

We're glad to have you here. You made a great decision on not going for a cheapie. Wait.....just wait until you build your first coil on the RM2 and put it atop the REO Grand. Make sure you're seated.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to REOville. Make sure to post pictures of your setup when it arrives.

Congrats on a great decision

One thing to know on the copper vein finish, it will darken over time unless you seal it with a clear coat. If you want to keep that new copper vein look I would pick some up and clear it before you begin handling it because once you pick it up you will not want to put it down :)

X2 on the pics, welcome to the 'Ville!

Congrats on moving to Reoville. I just got my LP Black Wrinkle Reo Grand/RM2 at the end of August, it's getting a little boring though, great vape after great vape after great...check out SuperXDrifter videos on setting up the RM2, might make it easier.

Good to have ya here. Looking forward to helping out another Copper Vein + Brass RM2 user. Something else you should be aware of.

The Brass RM2 and Brass Button are REAL Brass (not gold plated crap that chips off). Both of them WILL PATINA over time. You might as well do yourself a favor, and just get it over with. Go to Ace Hardware, and get a tube of MAAS cleaner for about $5. Here is what the tube looks like. ... http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1418854

You'll need MAAS to keep the Brass looking pretty, shiny, and new.

Be sure to get on the reo roll call. and since you've been watching Russ's videos, I'm sure you know to cut an inverted v into the bottom of your tube.

Welcome Dickie. if your at 24 mg right now.........pretty much sure you will be dropping that a bit after you get your REO!
Yanno, you'd think that wouldn't ya. He might, but I sure didn't. At one point I felt like I was getting over nic'd, tried to drop to 18, and after 5 days I wanted to kill someone! hehehe Went back to 24 and was nice again. :) Now with DIY it's probably around 22mg. Just can't drop the nic, but.....I don't care. I may just a lil bit less than I did before getting a reo. Everyone is different though, and I know many do drop their nic.

ohh and if ya feel so inclined......bring yur cranky ol self over the lounge and visit with us!! Great buncha folks there, although the threads a little bit slow lately

Welcome to the last mod you will "need to buy". Reo will out last you.

Just wanted to add that I never thought I'd like the patina brass look, but we love it! Won't be shining up no brass around here anymore!

Easy train from here on out!

Only prob is that the reo will multiply! You've been warned! Haha

Congrats, Dickie, on taking the plunge :toast:

Your logic is sound - squonking is next in your future, and it will become a staple in your vaping life just as surely as building and DIY juice. In fact, it will enhance the latter two.

Pics when she arrives - that's a thing with us. Questions when they occur to you - we live for that. Silly grins when you squonk - at your discretion; we've all been there.

Welcome to the 'Ville.

Will the MAAS work after patina has already occurred?

Yes, brass can be left to patina and polished up later if you decide to. The copper vein finish, however, once it turns there is no going back.

Yes, it should. However, I'm not sure of the results if you used the Ammonia method to purposely cause patina.

For the RM2 and Brass Button Cover. It's best to polish them really good before tarnishing gets bad - especially the Button Cover. It's easier to maintain that way. The first time, I recommend polishing them while they're Off the Reo Grand. After the initial polish, you can polish them while they're ON the Reo Grand. Takes about 3 mins. Just put a small dab (the 2 oz tube will last forever) on a Micro-Fiber cloth, and keep going over them - even after they turn black. The Black residue on the cloth actually helps clean and polish better. Then buff really good with the other end of the cloth, and they'll look like 24k Gold.
