I got an email from Brent at Hoosier today. Brent now has a few of the very latest new replacement switch modules. I you purchased a defective white LED switch from Hoosier in an E-Power 14650 kit or as a separate replacement part contact Brent at Hoosier and he will replace it with the new switch module at no cost to you.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the replacement switch is actually just the blue LED switch, not a white lED LR switch.
Regardless, it wouldn't be bad bc the blue LED switch runs the lower ohm cartos with no problems.
I think Brent is also waiting on an order of the 2nd gen. Blue LED switches and is going to sell them again on his site. The only downside is there won't be a 5-click on/off feature, but at least they will run 1.5ohm cartos and the 1.7ohm Ressurectors

It has a protected battery. Why does it need fancy electronics in the head? I have a real life friend that has a dead E power, that I told him to buy on recommendation from this place. If the system is this unreliable, then why are we pushing it on the new guys?

I love my eGo passthroughs. I've had ZERO trouble with them.

The E-Power was very reliable with the hard plastic blue LED switch module. I have one that's going great. The electronics will signal low battery power and malfunction in addition to power on. Those are very useful features on any mod.

The white LED switch module that started to show up in November has been a different story. Mine have been dogs. They won't fire 1.7 ohm LR single coil at all and can be very troublesome with 2.0 ohm single coil. The only electronic feature the white LED switch module added was the 5-click switch lock-out feature which is very useful for anyone who wants to travel with the E-power in a pocket as opposed to keeping it at home next to the sofa.

...my hard blue switched models have been great...I really hate they "improved" them and hope they "un-improve" them soon...I used Rivas without the "click off" feature, then the E-Power and have only had a few(very few) instances where that feature would have been a plus...for me, the biggest plus to the electronics, in the switch is, they are regulated and give a very consistent hit for upto 10hrs(for me) before the performance starts falling off...I like that...if anyone is having really bad problems with the white switch, instead of just complaining, I would advise calling various vendors and see if they have any of the hard blue switches sitting around gathering dust...being proactive usually gets a more satisfactory result than .....in' does(sometimes)...imjusayin..........

Sent a couple of emails yesterday, so a FYI on switch statuses:

I believe we do have the new ones that can handle 1.5ohm D.C. but I will get with Andrew just to be sure. I will get back to you before the end of the day.
HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!!The C.C.V. team......Jeremy

...

I stand corrected, were waiting on the new switches now, their expected next week sometime.
Hope this helps. The C.C.V. team.....Jeremy

Sincerely,
Crystal Clear Vaping

They're back up on the site now, and they're capable of low resistance.

Although I don't actually see them on the site yet....

CCV has the white LED switches that are rated for 2.0ohm and above. Like you said, Andrew has already placed the order for the LR white LED switches and is going to let me know when they come in. Most people that have gotten the current switch have had trouble running the 1.7ohm Ressurectors. I have a white LED switch from them and it's actually been working great with the Ressurectors, not really sure why, but it is.

Hoosier I'm pretty sure is just going back to the older Blue LED switches. They don't have the 5-click on/off feature, but they do handle the lower ohms with no problems. I still have my original blue LED switch and it works flawlessly with the Ressurectors and the 1.5ohm Epower dual coils. I still use it and keep it around right now just in case my white LED switch decides to stop working.
So shortly the blue LED switches should be available from Hoosier

Yes indeed, Rob. Hoosier now has the E-Power 14650 back on sale and it's now equipped with the blue LED switch.

I got an email from Brent today and looks like a replacement switch is on the way to me. I'm a happy camper.

You are lucky to have a white LED switch that works well. I either purchased or tested four of the white LED switches and none worked properly.

I just got mine from CCV today. It seems to work equally well with the Boge 2.0 and Resurrectors. At the beginning I got a couple of weird flashing incidents but I haven't had to mess with the battery. Should I be worried? I guess I'll just keep an eye on it and order the replacement switches CCV is getting?

Btw: before I got the epower I was using the boges on TW Tornado T/ego-T and they seem to perform about the same on the new epower.

Good luck Zeth. When they work, the E-Power 14650 is a great mod! Keep an eye out for problems with that white LED switch down the road. problems may take a week or two to develop. I'm glad yours is running the Smoktech 1.7 ohm LR XL carto OK, that's a good sign.

Things to watch out for:
-Rapid flash from white LED and won't fire carto.
-Won't fire unless the E-Power is warm (over 68 degrees)
-Fires 2.0 ohm LR but not 1.7 ohm LR.
-Requires a very freshly charged battery to work. My white LED switches would not fire with less than 3.6 volts left on the battery. The blue LED switch keeps on going under 3.3V.
-Gets picky about which protected battery you use

-Won't fire unless the E-Power is warm (over 68 degrees)

Mine does both of those. If the LED flashes, taking the battery out for a few seconds fixes the problem. I've also noticed that it won't fire if it's cold out and I have it sitting by an open window. I'll have to hold it in my hand for a minute to warm it up.

I'm going to order a couple of replacement switches next time I order from MV. I totally forgot about that when I put in an order earlier this week.

I have 2 white hard plastic switches on my Epowers. It is finicky when cold, but holding it a minute or two in my hand in the morning wams it enough to fire my Ressurectors. Been working fine since 12/1. The batteries are Smoketech 1050 ma, I have 3. They've been thru multiple charges, I don't run them all the way down. I alterated Epowers & batteries daily. Both have batteries & one battery gets charged & kept loose. Never fails to fire the Ressurectors. But still, when the new switches come out, I'm buying 2 & keeping the old ones as spares.

A few minutes after I posted, my new white switch started failing on the Resurrectors. Worked fine with Boge 2.0s. Usually it comes back to life but it's definitely finicky. I'll have to see if it's the temperature that's affecting it.

I got a replacement gold spring in my kit. Should I replace the stock spring immediately? Does that help anything? Using the two standard kit batteries.

Also if I'm having Resurrector problems, do you think I'm still getting better voltage out of the epower than my Totally Wicked Tornado-T/Ego-T? I'm new, don't have a meter to test.

...yes, replace the stock springs...the newer gold ones are slightly taller and thicker and give a better body to batt contact...keep in mind, the negative side of the batt runs thru the spring, into the batt tube and up to the switch...I used a pair of hemostats and pulled the old spring out...then used them to properly position the spring in the tube and inserted batt and pressed down until the spring "snapped" into position...
madjack:2cool:

p.s. I understand the eGo puts out 3.2-3.4 regulated volts...the E-Power outputs 3.7 regulated volts...the Resurrectors have nothing to do with outputted voltage from either.........mj

Thanks mj, I just feel like I'm getting more power vaping the same carto on my eGo/TornadoT than the epower. Of course I can't be sure, and it could be in my head. I'm gonna replace the spring now and see if that cuts down on the intermitent battery shorts/flashing.

Hope we get a better switch soon. Until then maybe I'll see if I can get an old blue led switch.

Just wanted to post an update:

I spoke with Brent from Hoosier today and he said a new shipment of switches was shipped to him earler this week and he expects to get them in about a week and a half. He said hes not sure if they have a blue LED or white LED. He said he doesnt think they are just the old switches bc they got held up in production so they are a "new" switch. He thinks that they are the fixed switches to the problem people are having with the white LED switches, but he doesnt know for sure. I also asked him if they think they will have a 5-click on/off feature and while he doesnt know for sure, he thinks that they prob will since they are newly manufactured.

So just wanted to give an update for everyone. We really wont know what they are until they come in, but hopefully they have the 5-click on/off AND can handle below 2.0ohm like the older blue LED switches can. As far as if it will have a blue LED or a white LED, I could care less, as long as they work well!

EDIT: I also just spoke with Andrew from CCV, his updated switches are in route as well. He said he expects to get them today, or on Saturday. So he said he should be able to have them on the site for sale by Monday or Tuesday. He also doesnt know exactly the specifications of them, but says he expects that they will have a 5-click on/off and will handle below 2.0ohm. He said he severly doubts that they will downgrade and take off the 5-click on/off feature since the previous white LED switch had them, and since the white LED switch had the feature, he expects the new ones to have it as well. He also said they should handle the 1.7ohm Ressurectors and 1.5ohm cartos with no problems.

So it looks like this could be great news for E-Power users. Hopefully Smotech FINALLY got the switch right and it will work like it is supposed to work!

Thanks for the update, Rob.

A new switch that handles LR down to 1.25 and features the 5-click safety would be optimal. Things could get confusing if the latest switch is either blue or white. Maybe Smoktech has anticipated this issue and come up with a new switch that is visibly different from its predecessors. Maybe a red, green or yellow led switch is upcoming?
