E-power switch

I'm trying to help a friend out... He bought a 5V E-power recently (from Liberty Flights, uses two 16340 batteries). I think he used a 1.7 ohm resurrector and fried the switch.

I'm wondering if he needs a special switch for his, or are the E-power switches for the different versions interchangeable? In my searching, I've read about the blue or white switches, and how the white ones have problems with LR (I think he had a white one). So can he just get something like this?

If he received a bad switch, the vendor should replace it free of charge. Mine did, when the switch issue popped up quite awhile ago. I'm surprised vendors are still selling bad switches.

Wow, slamming nearly 3 amps and 15 Watts through that MOSFET switch would make me raise an eyebrow, or two, and I can see how it would result in short switch life.

It should not be a typical switch as it is regulating the 5 volt output. CCV's switch is regulating at a lower voltage.

Thanks for the info. He is having a new switch sent out from LF, and we used my multimeter to figure out which cartos were 2 ohm (which is what it came with) and which were 1.7 (he has a bunch out of their wrappers, and they look the same), so hopefully it won't happen again.

I don't see E-power replacement parts at LF. Does anyone happen to know where to get the 5v switches? He wants to have a couple of extras.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I don't see anything for the 5v one. Someone out there must sell parts for this thing. Are they that uncommon?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Ego E-Power switch from Liberty Flights isn't compatable with the standard 14650 threading.
