Somewhere in time.
My comment:

Really? Even my children know when you heat liquid up it is "steam" or "vapor" not smoke, which involves the burning of solids. Most ecig users are intelligent enough to understand exactly what an atomizer does as well, I'm sorry you were so flabergasted by the idea that it was this simple. It is. Just like the liquid inside is fairly simple, however effective. Now, as a health hazard, I ask again-Really? I'd rather be in a room with vapor than cigarette smoke any day, but that's your call. My doctor, btw, agrees with me......please try to actually do some research before stating silliness on the net. Thanks.

I know it's rude, but, well, really??????

smoke? wow.

He didn't deserve more than rude-

"I don't even know where to start in ripping apart your little, uninformed, un-researched drivel. Perhaps it's best to just say you should stick to your primary line of work, psychology, or at least the writing about it. You are clueless about the product you're writing about and have done no research other than separating the parts of an e cig.

Why not, for your next entry into this topic, take apart a theatrical "smoke" machine an explain how those acts using such devices are threatening the future health of all in the audience. You should be embarrassed."

I did 'rude' on the AHA. I went ballistic. I thought i'd point my comment at the reader rather than the author this time.
The more readers that develop an ability to just sit back and think about the ridiculous comparison, the bigger our numbers will get when they realise that there is only one answer.

"and results have concluded that E-cigarette is a public safety hazard that could potentially cause a major health crisis in the years to come."
Please name any VALID research that has concluded this. I have seen none. I have seen many warnings from the un-informed, such as yourself, that make unsubstantiated claims, but that is all. No one has come up with any quantifiable evidence to support this statement. Even the FDA cannot say anything more substantial than "more research is needed". If they could conclude and prove this, the e-cigs would already be off the market.

Tests using thermistor type thermometers show that the coil in the atomizer achieves a temperature of around 370 to 400 degrees F. This achieves boiling and steaming of the Eliquid into a vapor. Combustion is not achieved using this process. Combustion of the liquid (propylene Glycol) would require temperatures of 700 degrees F. or higher. Burning does not occur.

Nice try, but you need to show some peer reviewed lab results for credibility.

I think the article is a bunch of c**p and the author doesn't really know what they are talking about.. However they are plainly talking about cartomizer e-cigs, some of which can and do burn the filler creating smoke, especially if run dry. Judging by the pictures on that site though, I just cannot believe anyone would burn the cartomizer to that extent and continue using it, as it has a distinct and unpleasant (burnt plastic) taste when it starts to happen.

But really I think it is a legitimite concern with that particular type of e-cig. It's not an issue with the three piece (cartridge, atomizer, battery) e-cigs or with some other types of cartomizer.

Here's my comment:

Wow, this is the worst of any of the articles I have ever read about e-cigs, and I've read alot of them! You sir, are either an idiot or work for the FDA. Oooops, same thing, my bad!

"the primary focus has been on the highest consumer rated US manufactured brands"

Really? And what brands would those be? It's pretty bad that you don't even know that there are NO U.S. manufacturers of e-cigs, they are all imported and rebranded by suppliers here. And the flavors meant to attract children- oh, what a surprise you chose to bring up that old song. I wonder how the manufacturers of cough syrup get away with adding cherry and grape flavors to their products? And alcohol- what about the flavored vodka's and brandy's you can buy? Are they marketed to children as well? Maybe YOUR taste buds died when you got old but MINE didn't! I guess I shouldn't be enjoying bubblegum at my age, much less the German Chocolate Cake flavor I'm vaping right now.
What a jerk you are...
