Well it seems if we have one thing to worry about according to this documentary is whether or not the chemicals we are either inhaling or sucking on might cause a decrease in both male fertility and/or male birth rates.

seems to be a side effect of a lot of the chemicals out there. two to watch out for are BPA of course and the lesser known "phthalates" which are added to plastics to make them softer and more flexible as well as creams, moisturisers, hair conditioners, deoderants etc.

perhaps those new softer cartridges you can get from some places might contain these. a quick scan of the ingredients does not reveal any of the chemicals listed in this program but who knows really what long term effects any of them have. and the chemicals in the plastics are never listed anyway. we are yet to find out what that fiber is. we can only cross our fingers.

We better hope they're safe because we sure are dosing ourselves rotten. the documentary claims that of the 80,000 chemicals being used, only 85% have ever been tested. and those that are tested are only ever tested by the manufacturers who create them.

This is very interesting and somewhat disturbing and definitely illustrates how our e-liquid manufacturers must be more responsible in the ingredients they choose. Ingredients in e-liquids must be made clear to the buyer at all times, and any potential known health concerns from specific ingredients must be made clear. We are still a long way off this owing to the infancy of this industry, lack of trials and also still being very much in the hands of the Chinese manufacturer as to what ingredients end up in our liquids.

I am personally very keen to get to this stage where we offer exactly this - a smoking alternative that has proven ingredients that we can trust. I do think that it won't be long before this happens, and a big step forward will be to produce the liquids a lot closer to home. Until then, the verdicts still out...

what my question is...not if the ingredients are safe for ingestion, but are they safe if they are heated? I know there are some tests out there that address some brews that are being sold in carts but what about if you go and buy...say some fav? how do we know if the safe fav doesn't become toxic heated and inhaled? A bit different than adding a drip to a cake or some cold icing...

dead right kimmie, and to be conclusive any test would need to take 5+ years. we are the test. ruyan's study eases our mind a little but knowing that Chinese factories are all too willing to swap in cheap and possibly dangerous components to reduce costs, we do have cause to be concerned. but it's not like i'm ever going back to cigarettes quickly.
