The 801 HV is awesome but it's not standard 801 fittings so it's a pain to get replacements.
Never heard of the 801HV...Guess that is because I never poked around since I'm pleased with what I have. I did a quick search. Standard size batteries will not screw into the 801HV atomizer or are you also using a non-standard battery?

Replying to my on Reply...Obvious You'all are referring to an 801HV atty and 5/6 volt batteries. I get it.

Never have even seen pictures of this version of an 801.

Litecig USA carries them, you should check it out.

I got my sample straight from the manufacturer as i'm a vendor, it puts out a tremendous amount of vapor, but the batteries only last a couple hours, they do charge fast though. I wish it had standard 801 fittings, but obviously nothings perfect :D

I started with an NPro (mini cigarette style), but quickly went to an 801 penstyle!! Yes, agreed, they're the best if that's your only choice ~ But then I went to a Janty stick (Joye stick as well) they use 801 attys, much more economical battery ($4). And very compact, for stealth vaping!! No more worrying about dropping a penstyle, or breaking in my pocket. I bought a few hundred $$$ worth of 801 batteries, and at $14-18 each got really tired of replacing them. Now there's an 801 cartomizer, which I love, no cartridge or filler to mess with, and they hold LOTS of juice, still have the nice cigar-tips, also called whistle tips. (801 carto @$2.49 from Mad Vapes.)
My choice, Janty Stick with 801 Cartomizer. Battery life is still only two-three hours, but I'm home all the time so no matter about that to me.

Sorry. I started with the 801 then went to a 510, then an eGo. Each was a major step up, in my opinion.

One advantage of the 510/eGo is that you rarely get juice in your mouth. The 510 has a cavity behing the inhalation hole on the end that catches most liquid juice that comes in. (Just stick a pin or paper clip end in the lttle hole at the end where the air comes through the 510. You can pull the end plastic piece out. You'll probably see some trapped liquid juice in there that never got to your mouth. The 801 doesn't have this.)

The other advantage is much more vapor for the 510 and even more for an eGo with LR atty.

well you know they came out with a 6volt dse 801 penstyle and i think a 5volt also. im thinkin of pickin 1 up now its a 6volt

DSE-801 HIGH POWER Vaporizer

7.4 volts? Why. Have. I. Not. Seen. This. Beforrrrre?

Anybody have one? I bet you would have to drip it. I don't know how any type filler in a cart could keep it wet enough. Plus, it is an auto battery, so it would seem pretty risky to get juice in there.

Just wondering what the more experienced vapers would think about this vs other higher volt mods.

That's the one i have, same thing, it vapes like a steam engine it's insane, i've never had so much vapor from a penstyle e-cig. The batteries are auto so it is a bit 'meh' but they really aren't bad, they last me about an hour and a half a piece, but they do charge really quickly with the special charger so i'm never without out.

If i'm not planning on doing any monstrous vaping i will use this with a drip tip if i'm sitting down somewhere, but if i'm out and about it's gotta be a mod with cartomizers, no question about it :D

Thanks for the input! I'm such a geek. I have barely had my eGo a week, now I'm shopping for my next upgrade. LOL I was telling a girl at work about something something vaping . . . she interrupts, "vaping. So that's what you kids are calling it these days." (Mind you, I'm just a couple breaths away from 40.) We both laughed. I'll just tell everybody that I'm doing market research and establishing product knowledge. After all, people are starting to come to me with questions.

If i'm honest it's pretty much a novelty, it will never take off and be a standard model, and the fact it doesn't use standard 801 parts makes it quite redundant. It is good for what it is though, it's like having a 5v mod in a penstyle e-cig, it's good to show off vapor lol.
