I just spent about an hour reading the thread over on SI about the auto X2 battery. The Voltie's crack me up. It is amazing how people get caught up in a cult like following of certain suppliers and their PV's. What is funny is there was first the Bloog following and then Smokless Image started selling the same product only cheaper and called it the Volt. All the Bloog followers were outraged that a so called knockoff was claiming to be as good as th Bloog. Now the Volties have morphed into the same thing as the Bloog Fusion folks were. They came out with a fat bat and you would think it was the first one on the market. Now they have come out with a carto made special for the volt X2 and is simply a Vision i-turbo or iGo Clearomizer. It is like most of the people aren't aware of what is going on outside of their forum. I know it isn't all of them because I did see several people I know and I'm friends with but I'm talking about the majority. It was just kind of surreal. I have nothing against the Volt at all in fact I bought one when they first came out because they were cheaper than the Bloog. So I saw it all begin but was just surprised at the following being as I haven't been on their forum for sometime.
I'm glad I got a 650 battery to check out but would never pay 30.00 for the 1300 although the people over there are buying them like hotcakes.

Geez. I said the same exact thing on the 808 clearomizer round up thread.

I will say their cartos are better in quality control than standard kangers. Only because I get less bad ones. When the both work right, there's no difference but for those couple of weeks I was all about carto tanks I was using the volts (when they finally came out with unstickered ones.) Only problem with them in a tank is the little horizontals can suddenly develop a stiff draw. Very inconvenient when they are in the middle of a tank full of juice.

the metal thing on top of the center post

not sure if you're joshing ;)

Not joshing, wasn't aware there were different designs and I couldn't/can't get a visual in my head. Suppose I should have got a clue when a picture was posted without a mouthpiece. :)

That is a "technical" term for a part on the inside. A part I'm fond of, but not on the ce4s and they all use it now. While reducing the possibility of liquid getting into the tip, they seem to tighten the draw and trap moisture near the coil- especially on auto batteries. The colors are getting better, though.

Hmmmm.....the unit as a whole. I see it now. Maybe there is a reason everyone likes them so much even though they aren't that great. And I used to make fun of the way carto tanks look like baby bottles.

cleaned a coil last night, rewrapped and had a little extra to snip off after making 4 nice even coils. I must have gotten confused because this has to be one I already cleaned and made to a 2.5ohm because it now measures 2.0. I don't know how I did it other than the wick must have been thinned out in the cleaning process. So the testing of a 2.0 ohm echomizer begins today. The first thing I can say is it will have to go on the regulated version. The stealth made hot steam and as it the earlier version, I wouldn't expect it to last too long.

1300mah regulated +2.0 echomizer. First impression is the wicking appears to be keeping up. The 2.5 ohm seemed to bring out all the subtleties in my pipe vape. At 2.0 the flavor is much lighter, I've lost the fruity notes and the peppery notes are at the forefront. I wish I had a good regular tobacco flavor to test right now but I don't.

It is slightly better than the DCC in that it fires quicker and easier. All the vapor I can handle at 3 seconds with no primer puff.

Which ones are regulated and do you know at what voltage?

apparently the led ones are regulated in the 3.6-3.7v range and the stealth are unregulated. Numerous readings of the led ones has them reading 3.8 fresh and 3.6 before they get weak in the last 20 mins of life and I put them on the charger. No idea what the loaded running loaded voltage is. I would assume 3.6v like most gen2 808s. They seem very similar in performance. The stealth read 4.2 fresh and taper as normal except for my older version stealth which drops quickly and I don't think it runs too high loaded but hopefully the new ones fixed that.

It's all observation based as no one can seem to get actual specs from Hangsen. Rob appears to have confirmed my hunch that the led versions are regulated.

If I take this echomizer off my battery and put it on my gen2 808 battery, it performs exactly the same except for the fact that it's airier due to the skinny battery.

I think you just can't read the one that use PWM to regulate. I have no idea what the echos or the gen2 808s use. I don't understand these things. Is it possible they are using a voltage limiter and that's why they have a peak that holds steady for a long time and then a decline as normal?

As an update to this 2.0 ohm echomizer, I'm really not getting a lot of flavor anymore. It is a satisfying vape but I love my flavor. I've switched to a wide mouth drip tip to see if it's just condensation muting flavor. I think I need a heartier tobacco vape to enjoy this at this ohm.

At nhaler.com is the "crystal vision" (their name not mine) tank with the 808 threads the iGo or eGo? Yes, you're right I haven't been paying attention to the nuances of the names except for iTurbo and eTurbo. Thanks.

They have three versions. The igo version has the skirt for cone threads and they have the echo version as well as the 510 version for ego threaded batts.

Yes Nhaler has all three types of the vision clearomizers for 5.00 each. I don't think he has the colored ones though.

Oops, great minds think alike and type at the same time. lol
