I want to modify my original assessment of my new eGo with mega dc cartomizer. I tried a different flavor it in yesterday and it's very noticeably stronger and tastier than my side-by-side comparison with my echo (with new carto). That being said, the rest of my findings still hold true. Oh and the battery ran dead on me around 10am this morning while in class :/ (EDIT: come to find out the battery has an 'off' feature when you click the button 5 times... who knew?)

Check out Nhaler and Smoketek. They both carry quite a few tips for the Ego. They may very well have some.

yes i see Litecig has some, I'll snatch those up on my next order :)

Okay, thanks for trying though. This is the first Echo-E carto to give me this problem. The draw is fine when disconnected from the battery. As soon as I screw it on even just a few turns, the draw really tightens up. (not the threads, they are still loose)

I thought about hitting the 4 notches with a Dremel. But the more I look at it, I don't think that will help. If the draw is too tight with the carto only screwed on halfway, then the notches are not an issue.

Hmmm. Confusing.

This is an older post, I know, but I just wanted to share that the same things happened to me. My solution was the same as others here in which I used a pin to poke through the air hole on the battery and gently cleaned around its millimetric diameter. I also cleaned the gunk (green!) that accumulated on the battery contact. My draw was light and nice, just as when it was new. I'm an occasional dripper on Echo autos (with a 510 adapter and a drip shield to make use my existing 510 atty collection) so that indeed may have contributed to my needing a cleanup. I'm truly sorry this solution didn't work for you. There's nothing worse than too hard a draw. I just felt compelled to write my input as the same 'symptoms' were occurring with my Echo/Carto combination. Best of Luck.

Thanks for sharing this experience. I need to point out that my scenario was an Echo-E carto on an eGo style battery. The eGo batteries do not have an air hole. Tex mentioned cleaning the air hole also. (pardon the expression) But I finally just gave up on my bad Echo-E carto.

I assume you are talking about a standard Echo Auto Batt with a 901 connection? If so then your solution will be helpful to those who have the same.

Good Day, JJ

Correct, Echo Auto batt with a 901 connection. I completely missed the part where you were using an Ego style batt. Cheers!

Speaking of auto batteries... I'm not exactly an expert on eGo's but I'm scratching my head a little here. I really like the eGo mega dual coil cartomizer but the manual battery is beginning to wear on my nerves. Can't it be used on an automatic (high capacity of course)?

Hey Darth, I was playing this today, using an 801/510 adapter on the echo auto, it works but the battery stays on till cutoff. Someone else posted this very thing a while back here but I had to see for myself. You can use a 2ohm carto on it without issue so must be the auto doesn't like below 2ohms. The new echo duals should be fantastic, can't wait to get my hands on some!

Got my hands on one right now :)
Realistically, I don't (yet) feel the urge to dance in the street. There is more flavor, sure, and it's stronger, sure, but the ego mega dc had it beaten by a noticeable margin (sorry!).

I'm also reading that the automatic ego/joye/riva/whatever versions of 510 batteries don't work so well for dual coils. But some other people claim to use an echo battery (or some other type) with adapter fine. It's quite confusing :/

I really like the DC Echo a lot, they dont run as hot as some other DC's ( 2 x 3.4 coils for 1.7 ohm instead of the 1.5ohm others use ) and the combination of that along with the amount of juice, flavor and overall vapor production of these is very nice. I also have been running 2 of them for 3 weeks now and both are still running super ! I also have used my adapter and have not had any issues while flipping the cartos and batts around as some have said to have had, so I'm a bit confused on that as well.

If the Echo DC is 1.7 ohm does that mean it will produce about the same heat as a 510 1.7 ohm (single coil) atty? The reason I ask is because the 1.7 atty runs a bit too hot for me with a 3.7v Riva, but it's not too bad on my Janty (lower v). So I'm thinking I might like it on the auto Echo, but I might not like the Echo-e version on my Riva.

They don't run near as hot as the 510 duals, I don't know about the 510 1.7 single though. I think it is because of the echo having horiz instead of vertical coils. MWA could answer that better than me though being as he designed the duals.

I think they are talking about the using the echo auto with the emdcc. They can correct me if I'm wrong but I know the emdcc would cause my echo batt to stay on until cutoff everytime.
