We just had a difference of opinions you might say that escalated into some rude comments. It had nothing to do with the quality of his products or prices. I just won't be having anymore dealings with him myself.
I got one of those situations myself

It's all good, there's always other people willing to take your money right?
For the sake of sharing experience, I did go ahead and hit the 4 notches with a Dremel. As I suspected, the draw did not improve. Still way too stiff. Also a bit harsh, but that's probably from the stiff draw. I think I'll move on and lay this particular Echo-E carto to rest.
Not the end of the world. We're gonna get a dud now & then. Now I'm one carto closer to trying the two DCE-E's sitting here on my desk. Haven't touched them yet because I have about 5 half-used cartos already in the rotation.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help me.

When you take a drag, the air flows from the outside
through the 4 slits in the echo cartomizer, then
through the two tiny battery holes (just under the
threading, then up along the batter post, and then through the two notches on the cartomizer post, and finally up the straw into your mouth.
So partially unscrewing the cartomizer would accomplish nothing except eliminating the first step only. The air still has to go through the tiny holes under the battery's threading. I have found that these holes get gunked up quite easily and a safety pin will quickly take care of that. If you need further clarification I can begrudgingly whip up a mspaint illustration.
On a side note, that's also a great easy way to lift the battery post up if you intend to remove it for cleaning the greenish gunk from around that too. Just be super gently because the wire will come loose (just happened to me a few days ago, and i knew to be careful of that! It sucks).
On a second side note, those of you not getting a good connection and are wanting to lift up the battery post, just take the battery (by itself) and hold it thread-end down (LED end up) and give it a good hammer-fist knock on a hard surface. Bam, post is flush with threading. Easy day.
The DC SHEcho Cartos are really kicking some .... and running far superior to the older original ones. I have been running mine now for close to 2 weeks and they both are still running like the day I filled them and that's just really super guys.
I however feel there is an issue with the Auto Echo Batts, Tony was kind enough to send me a new one because one of mine died but now my second one has died. I feel that over the course of only a couple of months that these Batts being Auto that a very small amount of liquid gets into them over time and then the electronics in them get wet and the Batt starts to fail (same issue with every Auto Batt I have ever owned) It would be nice if Hangson made the Manual version now for these since this is happening. I'm going to be dissecting 2 of my dead Echo Batts today to make sure this is in fact the problem but I'm laying steep odds it is.
Is anyone else having or had this issue ?
My fifth echo battery died of lethal liquid injection just a few days ago.. That plus the cartos giving me daily headaches... It's time to move on
