I can't tell you how happy I am that the Dual Coil Echo-E is around 2.3 Ohms, that draws a bit more current than the standard batteries can handle, but not enough to worry about.

Has anyone received dual coil Echos that are under 2 Ohms, like the 1.7 Ohms that Mtn Vapor was listing at first?

Yeah, I think they had plenty of drying time - two weeks! Update on the one that I only boiled - I let it sit overnight and now it's working again! I thought I had let it sit long enough, but I guess it needed more time for the filler to absorb the liquid.

The one I took apart and dry burned the coil - shortly after it started to glow red, I heard a pronounced pop and then no more glowing (and yes, I do know to only hold in the button to dry burn for like 10 seconds at a time). Despite that, I restuffed the filling and filled it with liquid and nothing. So I may just stick to the boiling since that seems to work.

I never wait for my Echo E to dry after cleaning...takes about 5 minutes start to finish

1. Fill with water (makes filler easier to remove) and remover filler
2. Pour boiling water through carto
3. Dry burn (about 50 very short hits)
after about 10 hits you will see smoke from crud burning off coil
burn until no more smoke and you can see the red coil

4. Pour boiling water through carto
5. Dry burn to dry carto...about 10 hits and you will see the coil again
6. Re-install clean dry filler with straw
7. Fill and you're vaping

I've been running the dual coils with a 501-901 adapter on a Provari lately. These dual coils generally really seem to respond to 3.7-4 volts without the volcano effect. When checking the resistance out with the provari, it seems to range from 1.9 to 2.2 ohms. I imagine those things don't receive much stringent QC control being pumped out in mass like they are. With a VV PV, it's a matter of adjusting the voltage it seems. The dual coil echos are great with the 3.7 devices out there for sure. Though some may notice some slight differences in resistance at this point.

The fact that some may be as low as 1.9 ohms is a bit unnerving. I do check and so far they've all been 2.2 or 2.3. I'll set any that are below 2.1 or so aside for use on bigger rigs. Based on reviewing the discharge capacity of batteries, I'm comfortable using 900+ mAh eGo type batteries, or 14500 powered mods, above 2.1 ohms, but not below, unless High Drain Lithium Manganese are used. Otherwise the voltage gets sucked down, and the battery (and FET switch) is overstressed.

I like having more than one "handset" in the vape, so Provaris are a bit too costly for that kind of use. Then it's a matter of how often you have to replace how many batteries. I seldom get more than 6 months out of a battery anyway, death is inevitable, but my emotional credit card limit is around 2 ohms, so I'm happy to have a dual coil that's not breaking the battery bank ;-)

WOW I just realized. I joined ECF and got my first kit, an eGo, exactly one year ago today. Quit smoking the same day too. That's 365 days without the 2 packs a day, 2 x $5 very conservatively with sale cigs etc, $3,650. I'm adding it up but I don't think I've spent over $1300 grand total on vaping for the year. I see $898.23 with my main vendors, and let's say maybe $400 from other sources (including that generic eGo tank kit I got at the vape shop in Cracow) (did you know there are something like a dozen walk-in vape shops in Cracow, PL?). That's still $2.3K savings. No kiddin? Hmm, gotta stimulate the world economy, buy more flavoring, and a new mod, sumthin' cool. Ah, yes, there's a musical instrument I want.

And my wife actually said "thanks for helping me quit smoking". She 'vape now.

Was looking at some suppliers webby and they all seem to have different measurements for the amount of liquid use... Some say it's 2.3ml some say it's 3.5ml when it's brand new and 3ml from 2nd refill onwards... And echo carts has a 510 Connection?

There are three different echo cartos. The Echo has a 808/901 connection and holds about 3.4 ml, The echo-e has 510 ego connection and holds about 2.7 ml, the echo-v has 808 recessed connection and holds about 2.7 ml. They are all advertised to hold less but these are what amounts I got in mine measuring with a syringe.

ECHO battery Question: I've got an ECHO 650 coming from mtnvapor. will I be able to use my eGo 420ma charger on the ECHO? I have the correct adapter. I will be replacing my eGo batteries if I like them.

I've been using the DC Echo-e on eGo batteries about 3 weeks—it's a very good combo and the 650 eGo does not seem overworked. I've moved back to the fat bats now after dabbling with a 3.7 box mod w/2ohm lr vertical coil cartos. It's because of this DC carto I'm changing back. It's consistant and hassle-free. I'm anticipating the ECHO with the regular ECHO carto will be a little better. Looks to me like it will be the same length assembled but hold more juice and be a couple more volts. So far, the only downside is the tip...I'm getting juice backwash more often than I like. They vape best with no tip. I wish there was a big Bloogish soft drip tip for them.

You can use your ego wall pwr supply but you need to use the echo usb charger with it. You can buy them at Cropduster901 for 2.75. The 801 drip tip works on them.

Just got my ECHO from MtnVapor really fast! I can't wait to try it! I filled the DC LR (1.7 ohms) cartomizer with 120 drops before it started dripping below. I put it over to the side to be ready in the morning. I am charging the first battery (1300 mAh) and have a question about when it is charged. The instructions say that when the LED goes out it is ready. But I'm not sure if it means the LED on the end of the battery or the LED on the USB Charger. The Battery LED came on when it started and went out after around 2 hours. I was thinking it was charged, but the USB Charger has an LED and it is still on. Which one do I go by?

I'm trading one of my ouds for a better one, by putting in a little cash and trading labor. But the viol, as it's called, is a tough case. Cheapest imported Chinese ones are over 2K, which strikes me as high, and 8k is pretty typical. Maybe if I vape plain glycerin for a few years ...

If you are using an automatic it is an Echo with 808d/901 connector.

Well you'll get there soon enough, just think of the money your saving on the health benefit of vaping too.
